This week, members of Louisburgh Foróige invited their families to take part in a quiz night. This was a great success, and we thank everyone who supported.

Our members are raising money to buy an outdoor defibrillator cabinet as part of their community enhancement Foróige citizenship project.

Our little town hall has had a great week as it never looked better than when Des Grealis and Mick Gallagher got married there this Thursday. The joy can still be felt in the room. Congratulations to them both. May they have health, wealth and happiness together.

Thank you to everyone who performed for our Summer Concert last Wednesday in Hall - students of Louisburgh Music School, our choir Louisburgh Voices, and guest performers Joe Forde, Michael Grealis and Nikita Svechenets (Nikita Svechenets).

Many thanks to all who helped with publicity, organising rehearsals, backstage and front-of-house, selling raffle tickets, as well as with the raffle draw (Des and Austin Francis), and to our generous sponsors for donating raffle prizes. Joseph and the team at Gala, Louisburgh (Durkan's Gala Louisburgh) helped with advance ticket sales. The ever-reliable Frankie McDonald (McDonald AV) took care of the sound and lighting on the night, and we had a great crowd to enjoy it all!

We'll be making an announcement soon about the amount raised for Louisburgh Town Hall.

Did someone say summer concert?

It's a sunny day in ! We're looking forward to our Summer Concert on Wednesday, with Louisburgh Voices, students from Louisburgh Music School and our guest musicians. Joe Forde will join us to perform two stirring sea shanties, and we're delighted to have accordion player Michael Grealis on stage too. Classical guitarist Nikita Svechenets will perform music by JS Bach and Piazzolla, and we have well-known traditional tunes and Classical favourites on the programme too!

Wed. 31st May, 7:30pm in Louisburgh Hall.

Tickets (€16 / €10 for Under 15s) available now from Durkan's Gala Louisburgh in their new premises on Bridge Street, Louisburgh.

Proceeds of this concert will benefit a fund to renovate Louisburgh Hall.
