Today was a fantastic day in Drogheda. We assisted with the Drogheda Pride Parade this morning. It was great fun and everyone was in great spirits. Drogheda Pride

We also called into The Taste of all nations at the Barbican Centre. This was a multicultural festival celebrating the rich diversity in our community. It was fantastic to see the live performances and different cuisines from around the world in a very welcoming and inclusive environment. 👏👏👏

Sergeant Ronan Loftus and Garda Darragh Prior from the Community Policing Unit in Dundalk were delighted to attend a Fraud Awareness Information Morning hosted by AIB at the Imperial Hote, Dundalk.

The event provided valuable information and practical advice on how to recognise, avoid and report various types of fraud and scams that continue to target members of our communities.

Local Gardaí were joined by a Detective from the Garda National Economic Crime Bureau, who shared insights into current fraud trends, scam tactics and the importance of remaining vigilant when dealing with unsolicited calls, texts, emails and online requests for personal or financial information.

We would like to thank AIB for organising this informative event.

Recently, Community Gardaí in Dundalk were proud to take part in Make Way Day 2026, joining local disability advocate and councillor John Morgan, councillor Maeve Yore, engineers from Louth County Council, the Council's Disability Officer, and John's assistance dog Jamie to highlight the everyday challenges faced by people with disabilities when navigating our town.

The event provided an important opportunity to experience first-hand some of the obstacles that can impact accessibility, including obstructed footpaths, poorly parked vehicles, street furniture, and other barriers that can make moving around Dundalk difficult for wheelchair users, people with visual impairments, and those with mobility challenges.

Make Way Day is about raising awareness, encouraging consideration for others, and promoting a more accessible and inclusive community for everyone.

An Garda Síochána would like to thank all those who participated and shared their experiences. By working together, we can help ensure that Dundalk remains a town where everyone can move safely, independently, and with dignity.
