Tomorrow we will be taking part in the National Services Day - Ireland event in Drogheda.
We are delighted to be joining our fellow emergency first responders, in what will be a fanastic display of the services we all provide.
It is promised to be a fun family day out. The event will take place along Drogheda Port from 12pm to 4pm. Looking forward to seeing you all.

As part of Operation Rail Safe, Gardaí McCrystal and Finlay, travelled on the 08.13 train to Drogheda from Dundalk. We travelled up and down the carriages to deter any anti-social behaviour. This is also an operation aimed at ensuring that the members of the public feel safe while travelling. We boarded the 09.38 train on the return leg from Drogheda to Dundalk.

Motorcycle Madness

The rider of this Motorcycle was observed by Dundalk RPU riding with shorts and a t shirt. If you come off your Motorcycle without proper gear on the chances of you getting back up unscathed is between zero and none

On the stopping the rider it was discovered they were a learner permit holder on a unrestricted Motorcycle. A learner permit rider can only ride a motorcycle within restricted power to weight ratios if under 25 years of age

Bike was seized for not having a proper licence to ride it

As part of , members of our Community Policing team in Drogheda were accompanied by some of our new probationer Gardaí Dion Hughes and Tommy Taylor. Our team travelled the Drogheda-Dundalk line.
This is an ongoing operation to deter antisocial behaviour and to ensure public safety on our rail system.

Gardai in the Louth South Community Engagement area targeting the enforcement of safer roads, recently came across a juvenile driving an e-scooter recklessly in the Clogherhead area.
Gardai in mid-louth also came across a young uninsured driver driving this scrambler dangerously.
The E-scooter and Scrambler were both seized.
We are appealing to parents to remind your children of the dangers associated with these vehicles. We also remind parents that at the present time, children under 16 are prohibited from driving e-scooters in public places. Individuals driving scramblers in public places are required also to have a driver's licence and insurance.

Yesterday evening, we were delighted to attend the launch of the Drogheda National Services Day - Ireland at Drogheda Port.
This is a celebration of frontline emergency services who protect our community.
This year we will have our National Services Day Village along Drogheda Port. It is promised to be a fantastic family day out. We look forward to seeing you all on Saturday 5th September 12pm -4pm. We will be joined by our colleagues from the Fire Service, The National ambulance Service, the Irish Army, the Irish Coastguard, the Order of Malta, Boyne Fishermen River Rescue, East Meath defibrilator Unit, Irish Customs, RNLI, and Irish Bloodbikes,

On todays date, in partnership with , we visited a number of businesses in the Drogheda area.
We know its very early, but at this time of year, teenagers are starting to collect materials such as pallets and tyres for bonfires. We reminded businesses of their obligations to ensure that these types of materials are stored and disposed of in a lawful manner.
We would appeal to all business owners in the area to do their part to help curb anti-social behaviour in our community.
