I’m currently serving as Chairperson of Macroom/Millstreet Municipal District Council, and I’ve been a member of Cork County Council for ten years. Prior to that I was a member of Macroom Town Council for 15 years. I’m a Fine Gael candidate in this year’s Local Elections on June 7

th, seeking election to represent the people of Macroom/Millstreet on Cork County Council. I’ve been an active and progressive Councillor over the last 25 years, and I aim to continue to work hard if re-elected on June 7th. My priorities for the area include pursuing additional funding to improve the local road infrastructure as well as continuing to work with local clubs and organisations who are applying for funding to develop local facilities. I have always worked tirelessly to help people who are in need of help with housing or other issues. I have served on several local committees and I have either previously or am currently involved with various clubs. These include the IFA, Macroom GAA, Ard na Greine Residents Association, Macroom Joint Policing Committee and Macroom Golf Club. If I can be of assistance to you in any way, please contact me. Ted

New Garda Station for Macroom

Greats news for Macroom . It has been announced that the tenders have been issued today 23 July 2024 for the new Garda Divisional Headquarters, with works expected to commence on site in Q4 2024.
This will be a huge boost for Macroom as it will create 70-80 new jobs for administration and office employees.

This has been a long running project and it’s great satisfaction that we have this announcement today !

70 FREE CAR SPACES TO BE MADE AVAILABLE IN NEXT COUPLE OF WEEKS

I was delighted to get the GAA and the Council together to discuss the possibility of opening up the GAA carpark to the people for free parking. I am delighted to say there will be 70 free spaces, the Council will paint the new spaces and maintain the carpark.
Whilst this is very positive news, we still must continue to look for more parking in the town.

Barriers will be gone!
