With very warm weather expected this week, it's important to take steps to avoid heat stress and dehydration.

Older people, young children and those with underlying health conditions are particularly vulnerable during periods of hot weather. Drink plenty of water, stay out of the sun during the hottest part of the day where possible, and check in on family members, neighbours and friends who may need a little extra support.

Stay safe and enjoy the sunshine responsibly.

Ní ar saoire ná in áiteanna teo grianmhara amháin a tharlaíonn damáiste don chraiceann. Tá an ghrian láidir go leor chun damáiste a dhéanamh anseo in Éirinn freisin!

Ná déan dearmad a bheith SunSmart.

This afternoon, our responders from Kanturk were notified of an incident by National Ambulance Service.

Initial responders requested the deployment of one of our SafeShell tents to help protect the casualty from the sun while maintaining the patient’s privacy and dignity during treatment until the arrival of the National Ambulance Service.

With the warm weather continuing this weekend, please remember to stay hydrated, wear sunscreen, and take care in the heat.

Have a safe and enjoyable weekend! ☀️🚑

It’s natural to be curious during emergencies but please, put the camera away. If you witness a medical emergency or accident, please respect the privacy both patients and our team.

Instead, offer help if you can, give space to emergency responders and allow us to do our job.

We had a great training night tonight with Stephen O'Flaherty who gave the responders a presentation on the new PHECC CFR guidelines and a demo on the ZOLL and LUCAS device used by Paramedics and Advanced Paramedics at a cardiac arrest. Everyone enjoyed the training and learned a lot. Huge thanks to Stephen who shared his time and knowledge with the group.
