On the 35th anniversary of their deaths, we remember with pride Óglaigh Lawrence McNally, Tony Doris and Pete Ryan, who gave their lives in the struggle for Irish freedom.

Their courage, commitment and sacrifice remain an inspiration to us all.

It’s happening!!!! 🍻🕺💃🥂
Late-night socialising is coming back to Carrickmacross.
Once known as the nightclub capital of the border region, for too long Carrick has been without any.
Everyone agreed we needed something to liven up our town centre but it took four lads to make the effort, have a plan and put in the investment to make it happen. A few bumps along the way but now it’s going to be a reality.
Best of luck to Jonny, Paul, Ronan & Jason (missing from photo), and to all at Abhaile, as they get set to open their doors this weekend, coinciding of course with the mighty Carrickmacross Street Festival.
It was great to drop by tonight as the final touches were being put in place, and to help Caroline with the mopping 😉

The people of Galway West and Dublin Central go to the polls tomorrow. Hopefully they send a strong message to the Government.

Monaghan Sinn Féin members tied in with Mark Lohan’s campaign over the last few weeks to show our support to a great candidate. Wishing him the very best of luck.

Also sending our best wishes to Janice Boylan

On this day, 45 years ago, Bobby Sands MP died after 66 days on hunger strike in Long Kesh.

Bobby’s death and the deaths of his nine comrades that would follow, marked a period that would define Irish history and leave a lasting legacy for generations to come.

Today, we remember and honour Bobby, his sacrifice, and all his comrades who stood alongside him.

“It lights the dark of this prison cell, it thunders forth its might,
it’s the undauntable thought, my friend, the thought that says ‘I’m right’.”

Go raibh míle maith agaibh to the hundreds who gathered in remembrance yesterday on the 40th anniversary of the death of Óglach Séamus McElwain.

It was a privilege for us to stand alongside Séamus’ family, friends, comrades, and the wider republican community as we honoured his memory and reflected on the sacrifice he made in the cause of Irish freedom.

Forty years on, the legacy of Séamus McElwain continues to inspire new generations of republicans. While the struggle for Irish unity and freedom may take a different shape today, the determination and commitment shown by Séamus and his comrades remain a guiding light as we continue that journey.

Yesterday’s commemoration was a fitting tribute to one of Ireland’s finest sons, and we are deeply grateful to everyone who came together to ensure his memory was honoured with the dignity and respect he deserves.
