The Downs Trunk or Treat is back and this time the rain wanted to be a part of it. But to those who braved the weather and spooked up their car, thank you for being a part of this year’s Trunk or Treat.

There was prizes for spookiest cars and best Halloween costumes. A Halloween Boogie Bingo and a lot was given away in the raffle draw. Well done to the Maleficent women for setting up this event and The Downs GAA.

Get ready for a spooktacular time at this year’s Trunk or Treat which is on October 27th starting at 4 PM! And guess what? We’re shaking things up again!

As always, we’ll have prizes for the scariest decorated car and the spookiest costumes for both kids and adults—so bring your A-game! Plus, there’ll be a prize raffle and treats galore for the entire family!

But wait, there’s more! This year, we’re unleashing Halloween Boogie Bingo on everyone! Imagine Bingo like you’ve never seen before—it’s a wild, interactive music extravaganza filled with anthems from over four decades that’ll have you dancing in your seats! Don’t miss it!.

Tickets are only €20 per family and we will be selling tickets from The Downs GAA after kids training this Friday, September 27th from 6:30pm

With Halloween fast approaching we are running our trunk or treat event again this year. As you will see our brand new state of the art playground has been built however the maintenance, gym insurance and yearly inspection cost for the playground insurance are still our responsibility and will be for the next 5 years. After this period Westmeath County Council will take it in charge and cover the costs. We have been incredibly lucky to have the full support of our community while we fundraised for the development and we will need your support now to keep it looking great and keeping it safe.

Trunk or Treat 2024 is being held on October 27th and we have mixed it up again this year and have added a lovely activity for all the family!!! It is sure to be a brilliant event with plenty of prizes on the night and lots of fun for all the family.
