Kildare County Council has signed a contract with Lawler Sustainability to deliver an Energy Performance Contract for Áras Chill Dara, K Leisure Athy and K Leisure Naas.

The project will support energy upgrades across these faciilties and help the Council work towards the Public Sector 2030 targets of:

- a 51% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions
- a 50% improvement in energy efficiency

The contract is being delivered with support from Codema and the Mid-East Energy Unit, and part-funded by the SEAI Pathfinder Programme.

Free mulch collection day on Saturday 20th June from 9am to 3pm!

Members of the public are invited to bring their own container and shovel along to the Council Yard at Celbridge Interchange to collect free mulch which was generated from the Christmas tree recycling initiative. Please note this event is not open to commercial operators.

We have published the Framework Masterplan for the Northwest Quadrant in Naas, which will help shape the future growth of our county.

The plan sets out how this area can be developed to provide:
• 4,000 new homes
• Up to 5,000 jobs
• Parks, schools, community facilities and key infrastructure

We have secured Government funding approval for six key infrastructure projects under the Housing Infrastructure Investment Fund.

The projects located in Leixlip, Naas, Maynooth, Newbridge and Celbridge will support housing delivery and create sustainable, well-serviced communities across County Kildare.

Our second Kildare Free Electrical Recycling Day in partnership with WEEE Ireland is taking place this Saturday in Maynooth.

Anything with a plug, battery or cable can be recycled for free on the day, including old washing machines, TVs, toasters and kettles, electronic tools and toys, cables, IT equipment, mobile phones, remote controls and fence batteries.

We have partnered with EnergyCloud and Microsoft to deliver an initiative that will provide hot water to 200 households using surplus renewable electricity.

The scheme, which is being rolled out in County Kildare for the first time, will help reduce renewable energy waste while benefiting approximately 550 people living in our social housing.
