We, in partnership with WEEE Ireland are inviting you to bring batteries, electrical, and electronic waste to a free collection day to help the county meet national e-waste recycling targets for 2026.

There are 3 events planned for Kildare in Kilcock, Maynooth and Celbridge.

Anything with a plug, battery or cable can be recycled for free on the day, including old washing machines, TVs, toasters and kettles, electronic tools and toys, cables, IT equipment, mobile phones, remote controls, batteries, including farm fence batteries, and even watches.

Walk The Story of the Clongorey Evictions - Historical Walk

⏳Step back in time and discover the story of the Clongorey Evictions, a deeply significant chapter in local and Irish history.

📍This free walk and talk begins at Barrettstown Farmhouse and finishes at Clongorey Community Centre, tracing the events that saw families forced from their homes on the O’Kelly estate between 1883 and 1892.

It’s a chance to reflect on the hardship endured, learn about the causes of the evictions, and consider their lasting impact on the area.

We are proud to support Amber Thursday ahead of the June bank holiday weekend.

This initiative brings together Fire, Road and Water Safety Officers from across Ireland to promote safety awareness and highlight the risks associated with fire, road and water-based activities over the summer season.

Safety Officers are urging members of the public to take care when engaging in activities such as barbequing, swimming or driving and to take steps to stay safe.

Our Library Service has partnered with the Vodafone Foundation, through its Hi Digital programme, to make digital skills training more accessible for older people by introducing a tablet loan scheme.

The scheme is completely free to access, and library members are encouraged to drop in, borrow a tablet, and explore what it can offer, whether that’s completing the Hi Digital course, researching hobbies and interests, listening to music, or getting more comfortable using a digital device in everyday life.

Tá áthas orainn a fhógairt go bhfuil dul chun cinn déanta maidir le trí choimisiún ealaíne poiblí ar fud Chontae Chill Dara.

Faoi láthair, tá dul chun cinn á dhéanamh i lár bhaile an Náis maidir leis an gcéad cheann de na tionscadail sin. Tríd an tionscadal seo, déantar ceiliúradh ar éacht bhaile an Náis a ainmníodh, trí bliana as a chéile, mar bhuaiteoir iomlán an ghradaim ‘An Baile is Dea-Choimeádta in Éirinn’ de chuid ‘Gnó i gCoinne Bruscair’.

Is féidir iarratas a dhéanamh faoi láthair ar dhá choimisiún eile i lár bhaile Dhroichead Nua agus ar Sheachbhóthar an M7 An Nás – Na Solláin.
