☀️ Enjoying the sunshine?

While the warmer weather is a welcome change, higher temperatures can sometimes increase the likelihood of fire alarm activations. Areas such as attics, roof spaces and locations exposed to direct sunlight can become particularly warm, while rising air can carry dust and other particles that may affect some smoke and heat detection devices.

A few simple steps can help reduce disruption during hot weather:

✅ Ventilate during the cooler morning and evening hours, and keep windows and blinds closed during the hottest part of the day to help reduce heat build-up within the building.

✅ Carry out daily visual checks of your Fire Alarm Control Panel to identify any pre-alarms or faults.

✅ Check that monitoring arrangements and keyholder contact details are up to date.

REMEMBER: Always treat a fire alarm activation as a real event 🔥
