After the success of the Downtown Portlaoise Christmas Street Market, we decided to organise the inaugural Voices across Cultures Street Market Festival in the same setup using the whole length of the Main Street from Top Square to Shaws which will be closed for both days. It's in conjunction with the Rose of Tralee Regional finals and the MultiCultural festival.
1. A STREET MARKET FESTIVAL:

n street will be closed to traffic for the weekend as a Market selling Food from around the world will fill the town centre with smells and tastes to tantalise and excite the tastebuds
2. LIVE MUSIC:
Popular local musicians will take to the stage along with musicians from around the world to play in our large Marquee. A special appearance from THE CUBAN ALLSTARS will be the highlight of the Saturday afternoon.
3. FILM FESTIVAL:
Dunamaise Arts Centre will show a selection of the finest Short Films from the best of Irish Directors with a Classic Feature Film to close the evening. Go to Dunamaise Arts Centre's page for more info.
4. ARTS 4 ALL:
Hynds Square in the centre of Town gets turned into a creative hub for all young budding artists. Kids can create a masterpiece and get their work put on display for the day in the Square.
5 BUSKERS CORNER:
Street musicians will provide entertainment for passer bys over the weekend with designated Busking Corners around the town for the weekend. So no matter what your taste is there is something for everyone this June Bank Holiday weekend.
