🎥 WHAT WOULD WE LOVE TO SEE NEXT?
We've received a lot of entries to our Fanad Lighthouse Video Challenge already, and we've loved seeing Fanad through your eyes. We've now shared 13 of your entries, with plenty more still to come.
But as we move into the the challenge, we thought we'd give you a better idea of the kind of content we'd really love to see.
We want STORIES.
Think about the kind of short videos that make you stop scrolling on TikTok or Instagram because you want to see what happens next.
Take us behind the scenes.
Introduce us to someone.
Show us something we mightn't normally see.
Tell us something we didn't know.
Take us along for the day.
For example…
🎥 “Come with us for a day at Fanad Lighthouse…”
Follow a family from arriving at Fanad, taking the lighthouse tour, trying the experiences, having lunch and exploring the area.
🎥 “What actually happens on a lighthouse tour?”
Bring us along – from the Visitor Centre right to the top of the tower.
🎥 “What can the kids do at Fanad Lighthouse?”
Let the children take over the camera and show Fanad from their point of view.
🎥 “Who are the people behind Fanad Lighthouse?”
Meet a guide, someone working in the café or shop, a local character – or even interview a lighthouse keeper and uncover a story from Fanad's past.
🎥 “Come shopping with me at Fanad Lighthouse…”
Show us what's in the shop, pick your favourites, find an Irish-language gift or choose something made locally.
🎥 “Let's have lunch at Fanad…”
Bring us into the café, show us what's on offer and capture the whole experience rather than just the finished plate.
Or tell us about a storm, a shipwreck, the wildlife, the night sky, local history, the Gaeltacht, the community, a quirky fact, a hidden detail, a memory or a story connected to Fanad.

You don't need a drone. You don't need professional equipment. Your phone is enough.
And we're not looking for a collection of photographs put together as a video. We want you to film, explore, talk, interview, discover, have fun and tell us a story.
Think TikTok. Think Reels. Think STORY.
Make someone watching from the other side of the world think:
“I didn't know that about Fanad.”
or
“I want to go there.”
