Many people are talking about the deplorable comments made by a local peace commissioner which single out older and vulnerable members of our community.

In many cases, he has been described as a member of Fine Gael. This is not true.

We are so excited to announce that well-known community activist Bee Flanagan will contest the upcoming Local Elections for Fine Gael in the Ratoath area.

Bee joins Cllrs Gerry O Connor and Maria Murphy on the ticket to represent the Ratoath Municipal District.

As a potential new Councillor for the Ratoath District, Bee wants to apply her positive professional experience to the issues facing our community and to deliver better service through Meath County Council and the many state agencies that affect the people of Ratoath, from Improving Transport and Roads, Amenities and Infrastructure and delivering more Youth Focused Funding, training and employment, Bee will make a positive difference and we will support her all the way! 🐝

RIP Kieran Coleman

It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of our dear friend, colleague and supporter, Kieran Coleman.

Anyone involved in Fine Gael and particularly Meath Fine Gael will know how big of a role Kieran played here. In the past couple of years alone, he has been the constituency organiser, officer board vice chair and even Director of Elections at the last General Election.
An ever present voice around the table, Kieran was always willing so share his advice, experience and suggestions. We will be forever grateful for all the time and commitment he gave to us and the party.

The funeral arrangements are as follows:

"Reposing at Cunninghams Funeral Home, Dunboyne on Tuesday (6th February) between 6pm and 8pm. Removal to S. S. Peter and Paul’s Church, Dunboyne on Wednesday morning arriving for Requiem Mass at 11am followed by burial in Rooske Cemetery."

We're so sad to report the untimely passing of our esteemed colleague and Membership Officer for Meath East Fine Gael, Jim Condra. Jim has given a lifetime of service, not only to Fine Gael, but also to his community. People like Jim are few and far between, and we're all the poorer for his loss. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.

Kilmainhamwood GFC and Meath GAA are in shock following the sudden passing of Jim Condra last night.

The death has occurred of our dear member Michael GILCHRIST Ratoath District Fine Gael
Well Road, Ratoath, Meath / Killimor, Galway

Peacefully, at St. Francis' Hospice, Blanchardstown. Husband of Trina and father of Kevin, Sheelagh, Leona and Kristin. Sadly missed by his family, brother Sean, sister Imelda, grandchildren Dylan, Elena, Sebastian, Melissa and Archie, relatives and friends.

MAY HE REST IN PEACE.

Reposing at Mc Entaggarts Funeral Home, Ratoath from 6pm until 8.30pm on Saturday with Prayer Service at 8pm. Funeral Mass on Sunday at 1.30pm in the Holy Trinity Church, Ratoath followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu to St. Francis' Hospice, Blanchardstown.

It's important to remember the contributions made to the cause of Irish freedom by many Meath men and women in the run up to 1916

Lovely write up in the Drogheda Independent covering Slane, Co. Meath man Philip Clarke and the Meath County Councils 1916 Commemorations in my area.
- In my speech on the day I pointed out how the basic freedom we have through elections to govern ourselves had to be fought for by these men and women. While they may have lost the battle in 1916, the actions of these women and men give heart towards the forming of the Irish Volunteer Companies in Stackallen, Lobinstown, Creewood, Castletown Kp, Slane, Yellow Furze, Duleek and Julianstown-Laytown, which in turn led to our independence.

News of a crash from Cllr Paddy Meade. Hopefully those involved are safe.

2 crashs on the L1603 from Slane Castle Gates to Drumcondrath via the Sallygardens and the Mountain House, Lobinstown today.
- Hopefully at next month's council meeting councillors will agree with me that this road urgently needs to be re-lined and salted over winter.
- Until then, avoid Whites Hill and the Mountain House where possible as they are not safe!
