Rhode Community Pre-School Ltd Rhode Community Pre-School Ltd provides an environment where children can grow and gain confidence, self-esteem and independence.

This page is to keep parents and family up to date with what is taking place within the preschool, upcoming events and any special announcements we may have.For security reasons and the safety and welfare of the children, pictures of children attending the school will not be posted by us on this page. All photographs taken in the preschool will be given to parents at the end of year on a disc on their graduation night.

**Beep Beep Day 🚦/ Playground Trip 🌳**
Celebrating Beep Beep Day by taking a lovely, enjoyable walk to our local playground with the children. While we were in the playground we brought some books to add to the library for others to enjoy. Thanks to the Road Safety Authority RSA Ireland for kindly supplying us with a hi viz and safety book for all the children.

**Community involvement provides pre-schoolers with a sense of belonging, broader learning experiences, and a connection to their community beyond the classroom, ultimately nurturing their growth as confident, capable, and responsible future citizens.**

Theme of the Week - Feelings & Emotions 😊😭😡😴🫤
"Children who learn how to understand emotions in themselves and others are better able to regulate their own responses to strong emotions. Helping children to identify and label emotions is an important first step."

The Colour Monster, feeling all mixed up inside, sets out on a journey to sort through his feelings. With the help of a kind friend, he learns to identify each emotion and places them in their own jars, neatly organizing his thoughts and feelings.
This book encourages young children to open up and discuss how they feel, even when their thoughts are confusing. I have attached a link below to the book and to a read along.

Personal Hygiene and Healthy Eating Week - The children really enjoyed learning all about the importance of eating healty, washing our hands and brushing our teeth. We practised cleaning teeth, getting the germs off and brushed the dinosaurs teeth. We also did some healthy food tasting ☺️

"Get to know me" and "My Family".
As the children settled into preschool we started with the theme of "Get to Know Me". The children coloured placemats for lunchtime with their pictures and favourite characters , painted birthday hats and crowns to display on the noticeboard, created handprints and footprints, discussed their favourite colours, toys, foods, likes/dislikes etc and got to know all their new friends and peers.

**When children feel a sense of belonging and sense of pride in their families, their peers, and their communities, they can be emotionally strong, self-assured, and able to deal with challenges and difficulties. This creates an important foundation for their learning and development** - Aistear

Scarlet fever is a contagious infection that mostly affects young children. It can last for around a week but it's easily treated with antibiotics. Scarlet fever is very infectious and can easily spread to other people.

Ending our year with our annual meal out. What a lovely evening we had celebrating our Class of 2026 last night. The children were amazing and we are so proud of them . We hope all the parents and families enjoyed their special night 🥰
