🏡 Community 🏡
As part of Community / Careers Week we went on another outing to the local playground with all of the children. Once again we would like to thank the community for the kindness and generosity they showed towards staff and children along the way. For everyone that stopped to beep and wave, Ronan for helping us cross safely in the village, Mairead from Bogs Dollops who delivered us more beautiful hot, fresh scones and coffee, Ray from Dempsey Family Butchers for giving all the children a treat on our way back to preschool and to all the staff of Ryan's Pharmacy who took time to come out and say hello. The children have become very familiar with all the local areas and faces and it really was such an enjoyable day.

**Community involvement provides pre-schoolers with a sense of belonging, broader learning experiences, and a connection to their community beyond the classroom, ultimately nurturing their growth as confident, capable, and responsible future citizens.**

Last week we enjoyed exploring the theme of planting and growing. The children grew some watercress and we also sowed a variety of flowers to plant around the preschool 🪴💐🌻

"Planting seeds with preschoolers offers significant developmental benefits, fostering curiosity, responsibility, and sensory development through hands-on learning. This activity teaches kids about nature, life cycles, and patience, while promoting healthy eating habits and improving mental well-being by connecting them with the outdoors" Bord Bia - Irish Food Board

This week we are thinking about turn taking!

Using a social story can help to explain turn taking to children. Here is a great example from Behavioral Perspective - BPI

Some Easter fun in Preschool 🐣

An Easter theme for preschoolers offers developmental benefits by fostering fine motor skills through crafting, cognitive development via egg hunts, and sensory engagement with themed materials. It also promotes early math (counting/sorting), literacy and social-emotional growth.

There are so many Irish phrases you can use daily to raise your children with Irish as a real language and not just a school subject. I have included sooooo much more for morning time, and every other time of the day in the ‘Gaeilge sa Bhaile Mini Course’ and also in the Free Quickstart Guide. 👉🧏‍♀️

check the listen highlight for pronunciation or the pronunciation highlight later 👈🧏‍♀️

Just comment ‘fresh’ If you’d love more in a free and easy course, you can do in your own time, that’s also fun and practical. The FREE Quickstart Guide also has a brand new module for a limited time called ‘Kickstart Your Gaeilge’.

Nótaí;
1. ‘Éirigh’ is ‘get up’ to one person and to say it to more than one person, you’d say ‘Éirigí’.
2. ‘Faigh gléasta’ is ‘get dressed’ to one person and to say it to more than one person, you’d say ‘Faighigî’.
3. ‘Ith suas’ is ‘eat up’ to one person, to say it to more than one, you’d say ‘ithigí suas’.
4. Almost every word above can be looked up on teanglann.ie to hear it in different dialects. I can’t do phonetics for each one on this static post, but I do do this in each course and membership.
