Really good article about VPN's.
Lots of people are now using them to help with their online security whilst shopping or streaming.

VPNs can protect your privacyβ€”if you use them right. We explain what VPNs do, what they don't, and how to get the most out of the service you choose.

Here's a problem we encountered recently, probably due to the good old Irish summer 🌧.
A Hikvision IP camera with it's female RJ45 connector badly corroded but luckily we were able to put an easy fix in place.
We cut off the corroded connector, put on a new male RJ45 connector and a RJ45 coupler and the camera was as good as new,
working perfectly πŸ˜ƒ.
See pics for colour coding of this Hikvision camera's RJ45 cables.

Its that time of year again and here is some advice for operators of camera systems from our perspective. or if you are thinking of setting up a new system.

1. Do not wait until the last minute to activate your system.
2. It requires maintenance and servicing the same as your vehicle.
3. Be careful who you buy your camera system from.
4. Cheapest is not always the best option.
5. Make sure you will be able to get back up service.
We get these calls regularly from customers of other providers.
If you have a problem with your system and your provider is not taking your calls or is unwilling or unable to help then we will strive to do our best to help if you ask but we will always make our existing customers our absolute priority at all times.
We have helped out lots of people who have not initially purchased equipment from us and will always continue to do so as best we can but there will be a lead time for assistance and most reasonable people understand this as we are very busy in recent times.
We appreciate the people who have purchased from us and show this by making them a priority at all times.
Sometimes waiting for the right solution is well worth the wait.

Not only do our customers keep coming back to us but we continue to make new friends all the time so we must be doing something right πŸ˜ƒ

How many coax cables should I run outside for my new satellite dish?

We've had quite a few enquiries about this recently due to a number of new builds and extensions coming near completion.
Currently I would recommend getting your electrician to run 6 coax cables from the attic or comms room to the dish location outside for modern TV satellite dish setups.
This comprises 2 cables for a Sky Q connection and 4 cables for freesat connections.
This is usually sufficient for domestic situations.

Hope this helps.
