Vintage and Family Fun Day - Riverstown Co. Sligo

Sligo Folk Park are delighted to host the 2015 Vintage and Family Fun Day! Over the years tens of thousands of people have attended the event at the local Community Park & Sligo Folk Park on Vintage Festival Day. An air of excitement is around the folk park as preparations for the Vintage and Family Fun Day have already begun. In the early days of the Riverstown Vintage festival it was held in the

Local Community Park and then in the year 2000 it moved into the grounds of the newly built Sligo Folk Park. This new venue provided good hard surfaces for displays and shelter from the sun or the rain in the many buildings that make up the park. Over the years we have had displays of Traditional Crafts, Vintage Cars & Tractors, Threshers etc. This Years festival promises to build on the successes of the local festival by having a host of national exhibits.

• A large selection of newly restored horse drawn farm machinery,
• A newly restored horse drawn travelling shop (circa 1911),
• live threshing display,
• Steam engines
• miniature steam engines
• a large selection of vintage cars & tractors
• Traditional craft displays.
• There will be Music and dance throughout the day, at the main stage in the courtyard.
• For the young and young at heart we will have a full day of activities. The Festival promised to be a great day out for young and old, with exhibiters from all corners of Ireland and a large number of people coming home from abroad for it.
