As our Leaving Certificate and Junior Cycle students begin their examinations tomorrow, we want you to know that you are more prepared than you may realise. The knowledge, skills and habits you have built over many years have brought you to this point. Trust in the work you have done, trust in the support around you and trust in yourselves.

To our Sixth Year students, this marks the culmination of a journey that began when you first walked through our doors. We have had the privilege of watching you mature, overcome challenges and grow into remarkable young adults. You have shown determination, resilience and character throughout your time with us. Over the coming weeks, believe in your abilities and remember that you are capable of far more than you sometimes give yourselves credit for.

To our Junior Cycle students, we know that sitting your first state examinations can feel daunting. However, you have spent the last three years preparing for this moment. You have learned, practised, revised and persevered. The hard work has already been done; now it is simply your opportunity to show what you know. Approach each exam with confidence and take pride in how far you have come.

Most importantly, remember that you are not facing these weeks alone. We will be here to support, encourage and guide you throughout the examination period. We look forward to welcoming you each day and helping in any way that we can.

To every student sitting exams, we wish you the very best of luck. Walk into each exam knowing that you have prepared well, that you are capable, and that your worth is measured by so much more than any grade on any page.

Believe in yourselves, trust the process, and give it your best effort. The rest will take care of itself.

From all of us in St Joseph’s, good luck—we are proud of you already 💙

💙 A Huge Thank You to North Midlands Credit Union! 💙

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the North Midlands Credit Union for their generous sponsorship of €3,500, awarded following a successful application by our Student Council to upgrade our school gym facilities.

Thanks to this funding, we have been able to install new flooring and invest in some fantastic new equipment, creating a more modern and enjoyable space for our students to train, exercise and develop healthy habits.

This project was overseen by Mr Greene and the PE Department, and the impact has already been felt across the school, with the introduction of Hyrox as an exciting new extracurricular activity proving hugely popular among students.

A special word of thanks to Claire and all at NMCU and to Lena, who is a familiar face in St Joseph’s through her regular delivery of the Clued In Programme, a popular part of our curriculum. We greatly value the positive relationship we have with North Midlands Credit Union and the support they continue to provide to our students.

North Midlands Credit Union is a fantastic community resource, and we are incredibly grateful for their generosity and commitment to supporting young people.

Thank you for helping us create opportunities that will benefit our students for years to come 💙🏋️‍♀️🏋️‍♂️👏

It was a proud day for our Green Schools Committee today as we attended the Green Flag Ceremony in Athlone and were presented with our Green Flag for Water!!

Representing the school at today’s reception were Head of the Green Schools Committee, Oisín Staunton, and Deputy Head, Patrick Clarke, who should be very proud of the work and leadership they have shown throughout the year.

This achievement reflects the commitment and hard work of our entire Green Schools Committee in promoting water conservation and environmental awareness within our school community. A special thank you to Ms Harney and Mr Cocoman for their tireless work and efforts with the committee and our school community as a whole.

We look forward to holding a special flag-raising ceremony with the full committee very soon! 💚♻️👏

Today, our Green Schools students visited the Bog Bothy Project in Milltownpass, where they met with Hazel from Toghár to learn about rethinking our relationship with the Midlands peatlands and the importance of protecting and restoring these unique landscapes. It was a really insightful and engaging experience for the students. Well done to the students and their dedicated mentors, Mr Cocoman and Ms Harney 👏👏👏
