Yesterday marked Day 1 of 3 for the Rockcorry Divers & North Coast Search & Recovery, out of Downings, North Donegal.

Massive shout out to Mevagh Boatyard for once again, allowing us the use of their facility.

We touched down on the legendary wreck of the RMS Laurentic, and had amazing conditions.

• A Major Milestone:
Huge congratulations to our club members who smashed their personal records—this was their deepest dive to date.

• Perfect Conditions:
We were blessed with glassy, calm seas and an incredible 25m of visibility. It doesn’t get much better than that.
• Round Two:
Our Purpose Built Tornado 9m Diesel Rib, Deep Explorer, and our gear is prepped and we’re heading back out to the Laurentic again this morning!

Great diving conditions this weekend in Teelin, County Donegal with Rockcorry Divers & North Coast Search & Recovery.

Our dives were at the bottom of the Slieve League Cliffs at Cardigan Head and The Organo Shipwreck.

An amazing St Patrick’s Day for Rockcorry Divers & North Coast Search & Recovery at the annual St Patrick’s Day Parade in Monaghan.

Many thanks to all or our members who supported the event.

Special thanks to James Mee for the very enthusiastic hearty support every year!

Worth a mention that James’s raised more than €186k for charities in the past 12 months, with €3500 last week alone going to Crumlin and Temple Street Hospital.

Back again at Strangford Lough today.

Our first days diving of 2026 and -4 outside temp meant that it was a lot warmer in the water, at around 9 degrees!

As 2025 draws to a close, Rockcorry Divers & North Coast Search & Recovery took advantage of the majestjc weather conditions and headed to Stranford Lough to carry out the last dive/s and training session of the year.

Yesterday afternoon, after more than 6 long painful weeks, Andrew Robinson was found and brought home to his family.

Andrew went missing on 15th November with the last sighting of him being near the Bann River in Portadown.

Throughout those 6 weeks, countless people and organisations gave their time, their expertise, and their hearts to the search and recovery efforts, with groups even coming from the UK mainland

We wish to sincerely acknowledge the incredible support from Foyle Search and Rescue Community Rescue Service Belfast District, Tyrone Underwater Search and Recovery Police Armagh, Banbridge & Craigavon,Lough Neagh Rescue, Search & Rescue Dog Association - SARDA Ireland North,Sky Watch NI, Newry & Mourne Search & Rescue

We are also deeply grateful to every responder, volunteer, and member of the public who stood with us during this difficult time.

A special and heartfelt thanks goes to Mark Patrick Hughes and Rockcorry Divers & North Coast Search & Recovery member Phillip Hand who found Andrew yesterday and was then assisted by Meath River Rescue & Boyne Fishermans Rescue and Recovery as well as Search and Recovery Teams from The UK Mainland.

We would like to mention whose tireless dedication and unwavering professionalism of all of the emergency agencies who were a guiding light in the darkest of circumstances.

The unity, strength, and compassion shown by all involved are a testament to what can be achieved when communities come together with one purpose.

To Andrew’s family and friends, we offer our deepest sympathies. There are no words that can ease the heartbreak of this loss, but please know that our thoughts are with you.

Portadown Search for Andrew Robinson update.

Today is day 15 since Andrew Robinson went missing and our Dive Team continued the ongoing search of The Bann River in Portadown.

The water level had dropped and subsequently the current was only 1 to 2 knots, which also improved underwater visibility allowing for a very detailed search of the area where Andrew fell in. Probably our best search of this area to date.

Sadly, once again, despite our very best efforts we have returned empty handed.

Our thoughts are with the Robinson Family and Friends at this very difficult time.

Rockcorry & North Coast will continue to work closely with the other involved agencies, Tyrone Underwater Search and Recovery , Lough Neagh Rescue, Community Rescue Service Belfast District, , The Police Service of Northern Ireland, Sky Watch NI, Foyle Search and Rescue & Newry & Mourne Sub Aqua Club to mention only some of the organisations involved.

Rockcorry remain committed to bringing Andrew home to his family.

Today, we returned to Portadown to continue our efforts to bring closure for the family of Andrew Robinson, who has been missing in the Bann River since Saturday, 15th November.

With a larger dive team and many additional search groups on site, we began the day with high hopes.

Unfortunately, the recent and overnight rainfall raised the Bann River by nearly a metre since our last search.

This resulted in a much stronger current and almost zero visibility—conditions that significantly limited what we could safely achieve.
