Hi Everyone

The NTA propose to launch a new bus service between Longford and Cavan via Roosky, Dromod, Mohill , Aughavas and Carraigallen during 2026.

A public consultation in respect of this proposed new service has been launched – see link below.

Could we ask everyone to share to make people aware of this proposal and most importantly to;



1 Make a submission encouraging and welcoming this new service – deadline for submissions is 7th December

2 Request that the NTA have a few services each way daily on this proposed route

The NTA has launched a public consultation on proposed enhancements to bus services between Longford and Cavan.

We're delighted to hear the news that funding has been approved for an off road walk/cycleway linking Rooskey and Dromod. When complete this will be a great amenity and a wonderful addition to the Greenway currently in progress linking Rooskey and Tarmon. In time we should have a beautiful trail from Dromod to Tarmon.... and if you're feeling energetic along the Royal Canal all the way to Dublin🤣. Thanks to all involved especially Sean McGowan for his support.

We were so sorry to hear of Sean's death. As part of our small committee,he played a massive part in the development of our Village Improvement Plan and was always there to pass on sound advice in dealing with local and state authorities. He will be missed. R.I.P.

Works to begin next week 24th April on the bog road from Eunan McGarveys along the Meelick, Derrymoylan and Cuilbeg bogs. These works will enhance the trail for walkers and cyclists. Please be aware that heavy machinery will be in operation on the trail.
