Roscommon County Council, in association with SHE (See Her Elected) and Roscommon Women’s Network and funded by the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage are delighted to host a series of events following last year’s very successful Supporting Women and Diversity through greater engagement in Local Government campaign.

The theme of this year’s campaign is Increasing the participation of women and diversity in Local Government. ✨

The first phase of this campaign will take place with two seminars, taking place on the following dates:

Wednesday May 27th at 11am in the Council Chamber, Áras an Chontae, Roscommon County Council. F42 VR98

Wednesday June 3rd at 7pm in the Trinity Arts Centre, Castlerea. F45 AW27.

Tea/coffee and light refreshments will be served prior to the start of each event. Each seminar will be approximately two hours in duration.

Roscommon County Council are proud to host this year’s LGMA National Tourism Conference which is being held in Kilronan Castle.

This is an important event where tourism providers, business leaders and policy makers come together to exchange ideas and best practice on promoting the national tourism sector.

Roscommon County Council is represented at the event by our CE, Sean Tiernan, our Directors of Services Caitlín Conneely, Mark Keaveney and Chris Flynn, Tourism Officer, Lisa Joy and by other senior staff and local stakeholders who work at the coalface of the local tourism sector.

As part of Biodiversity Week, Roscommon PPN in association with Roscommon County Council is hosting a one day workshop with renowned horticulturist and environmentalist Aoife Munn . Learn how to support biodiversity, plant for a changing climate, and take practical steps for your community. 🌳

🕐 10am–4pm
📍 Lough Key Forest Park

Topics include low maintenance planting, creating wildlife habitats, nature based rainwater solutions, composting, waste reduction and more. Open to all community groups — especially Tidy Towns, (Wo)Men's Sheds and environmental groups.
