Slane Village is an interesting place to visit and is a fantastic base for many attractions. Slane is a heritage village in heart of the Boyne Valley with many aspects we wish to highlight. Part of this includes, the world heritage site Newgrange, only 10mins from Slane, which is older than the pyramids and Stonehenge and receives thousands of visitors every year. Slane are the Hill of Slane, The River Boyne, Slane Castle, the Four Sister Houses and Francis Ledwidge Museum. There are many other heritage sites just minutes from Slane including The Hill of Tara, Monasterboice, Mellifont Abbey, The Battle of Boyne Site. Other activities include canoeing, walking, tree climbing, electric bikes, cycling, fishing, tennis, pitch & putt and horse-riding. Slane is also 10mins from The Irish Military War Museum & Park, Newgrange Farm, Red Mountain Farm and only 20mins from Tayto Park and Funtasia Waterpark. There are many accommodation options to suit everyone ranging from Hotels, B&Bs, Self-Catering, Eco-Accommodation, Glamping, Hostel, Farm Accommodation, Camping and Motorhome parking. Slane has fantastic restaurants, pubs, and only 5mins from Tankardstown House and Courtyard Cottages with an award winning restaurant, Bistro & Bar. There is Live Music and entertainment in Slane Village 6 days per week with 2 traditional music sessions available. Amazing local crafts in Slane’s Arty Quarter which includes Pat’s Art Studio and award winning Slane Craft Collective. All local and Tourist information is provided from The Hub, Slane’s Failte Ireland approved Tourist Office.
