Removing the Fear Factor: How AI Can Become Your Smartest Business Assistant

Join Sligo Women in Business Network for our June session, for a tech-focused session on tools to help you in your business.
This month SWIBN member Debbie Woodward of Logis Media will deliver an interactive workshop on using AI to assist you in your business.
The focus will be on accessibility (no tech knowledge needed), immediate wins during the session and showing AI as a thinking partner and first draft helper rather than something intimidating or overwhelming.

At the end of this session, members will be able to:
- Use AI entirely on their phones
- Create one clear, confident client reply using their own real examples
- Turn that reply into a piece of content they can reuse
- Save one simple and personalised AI prompt they can use again and again for replies, content or admin

The Sunday Independent last week carried a 12-page supplement ahead of this week's National Enterprise Awards.

It included a foreword from Minister Peter Burke TD and Chair Kieran Comerford on the importance and impact of the Awards. It highlighted the impact of the Local Enterprise Offices in 2025 and year on year in the areas of job creation, training, mentoring and funding small businesses to start and grow. It included profiles of the 31 finalists with one from each of the local authority areas across the country.

It also spotlighted some amazing businesses including ENGDOC who will receive the Outstanding Achievement Award, SPRYT and ADVANCED COSMETICS who are previous winners and some of this year's Finalists including The Smooth Company, RYSE Chocolate, Niche SSP, Seed Golf, Blarney Brewing Company and Legal Moov

The 2026 National Enterprise Awards Finalists have been announced!

Minister Peter Burke TD last week announced the 31 Finalists from across the country for the 26th National Enterprise Awards.

Celebrating the very best of Irish enterprise, these Finalists have been chosen from across the country to compete for the €80,000 prize pot.

With an overall National Enterprise of the Year to be named there will also be awards for for Best Start-Up, Best Export Business, an Innovation Award, a Digital Award, a Green Award and a Female Entrepreneur award at the award ceremony on 18th June.

GradStart is a programme designed to help Local Enterprise Office (LEO) client companies strengthen their growth and competitiveness by supporting graduate recruitment. It provides financial assistance to enable businesses to hire one graduate on a two-year contract. This initiative not only brings fresh talent and new skills into SMEs but also fosters innovation and entrepreneurial activity, ensuring companies are better equipped to scale and succeed in a competitive market.

Minister Niamh Smyth TD closed the first AI Works for Ireland roadshow which finished at the Peace Campus in Monaghan last month.

The partnership between the Local Enterprise Offices, Google and Enterprise Ireland brought the roadshow to Galway, Cork and Monaghan giving hundreds of small businesses across the country the chance to learn how AI can make significant impact for them.

While the AI Works for Ireland roadshow has finished there are now 10,000 AI scholarships available to SMEs across the country through their Local Enterprise Office in partnership with Google. Small businesses can contact their Local Enterprise Office to apply.
