Sligo Social Services

Sligo Social Services Sligo Social Services opened its doors in 1969, with a clear vision to improve the quality of life of the local community. Sligo and parts of Co. Leitrim.

Sligo Social Services strives to empower individuals, families and communities in the Sligo region in improving their quality of life through the promotion of social justice, equality and the dignity of the human being. The fledgling organisation had a clear aim in assisting those who were suffering the effects of disadvantage and marginalisation. Sligo Social Services is a friendly, confidential

and community based service that has grown over the years which now provides support to a wider range of people in Co. We have remained true to our original mission, while being flexible and innovative in our response to those who are experiencing difficulties. We recognise that the community’s needs and circumstances are every changing, and we are committed to offering support, so that they never find themselves alone. Our Services:
We offer services in Childcare, Youth Counselling, Temporary, Long Term and Emergency Accommodation, Substance Misuse Services, Community Employment Schemes, an Advice and Information Walk-in-Service, Meals on Wheels, Befriending Services and Thrift Shops. It has been a wonderful build up to Christmas in both our Ballytivnan and Abbeyquarter Afterschools this year with many things to be grateful for.
We have carried out some inspirational Christmas decoration ideas from clay ornaments and pottery, gingerbread people, Christmas Flower arranging, Origami flowers, Card Crafting and Sparkly Snow men for good measure. The children always have so many great ideas and we look forward to much more exploration of these ideas in the New Year. We are celebrating Christmas tomorrow with a Christmas party and we are hoping to get a visit from the main man himself! We would like to Thank all our Parents, Children and Families for their continued support.
We wish you all a Very Merry Holiday and a Prosperous New Year.
