Fingal County Council have made an order to temporarily close a section of Strand Street Skerries Co. Dublin for the purpose of installing a wastewater connection.
It is proposed that the road will be closed from the 15th June to the 16th June 2026.

Free Recycled Paint: For Community Spaces and Schools
Recycled paint is available for use by community groups in community spaces and for schools. Typically, the available colours are magnolia and grey, but other colours may be available from time to time. Be sure to specify whether you need interior or exterior paint. This paint is sourced from the Fingal Recycling Centres and processed by the Rediscovery Centre in Ballymun as part of a waste prevention and circular economy initiative in partnership with the Rediscovery Centre.

We are pleased to have completed, nine days ahead of schedule, and in advance of the Flavours of Fingal event, the resurfacing of Turvey Avenue from its junction with Cobbes Lane, past Turvey Cottages to the junction with the R132.
The works included the provision of new road markings, reflective road studs and drainage improvements. When taken together with works undertaken in 2025, the entire 2.8km length of Turvey Avenue from the R132 as far as The Square, Donabate has now been resurfaced. Further resurfacing works at The Square are planned for later in the year.

Ready to get back on your bike? Sofa to Saddle is a 10 week course run by Age & Opportunity and The Active Travel Section of Fingal County Council. The goal of the course is to get people over 55 years of age back cycling independently. Our next beginners course takes place from Thursday 25th June on the Learn2Cycle track in Millennium Park, from 10am to 11:30am.

Fingal County Council wish to advise that the Do Not Swim notice issued for Burrow Beach, Sutton on Saturday 6 June has been lifted with immediate effect.

Samples received show the previous bathing water incident has ended. The water is now safe to bathe in.

In consultation with Uisce Éireann and the HSE, Fingal County Council are requesting to have the DO NOT SWIM notices at Rush North and South beaches lifted, provided bathing water samples collected today (Friday, 12 June) meet with required standards. Results from these samples are due back from the laboratory this Sunday (14 June).

Uisce Éireann has confirmed that the one remaining pump in operation at the Tower Bay Pump Station has capacity to handle the full normal operational flow of the station, and that there have been no overflows from this pump station this year despite occasional heavy rainfall events. Uisce Éireann has also advised that the pump station is monitored by a 24/7 telemetry team through the National Operations Management Centre and have an out of hours arrangement in place.

Should bathing water meet required standards, and consent is granted by the HSE to lift the DO NOT SWIM notice, the beaches will remain under the protection of a much lesser form of a notice namely a "Prior Warning Notice" advising of the enhanced risk of an overflow at the beaches due to the standby pump being out of order. The Prior Warning notice is designed to warn of the enhanced risk of an overflow to bathing waters but is not reporting that an overflow event has occurred.

If an overflow event does occur as a result of the last remaining operational pump failing, a DO NOT SWIM will be re-issued".
