Tramore Community First Responders

Tramore Community First Responders The Tramore Community First Responder (CFR) Scheme is facilitated by the Order of Malta - Tramore Unit.

Community First Responders are volunteers who are trained to attend specific emergency calls in conjunction with the National Ambulance Service. Tramore Community First Responders are volunteers who are trained to attend specific emergency calls in the locality. Community First Responder volunteers are dispatched simultaneously with the ambulance service as soon as the 999/112 call is received in

the National Emergency Operations Centre. Due to members living and working in close proximity, they play a vital role in stabilising the patient and providing appropriate care until the National Ambulance Service arrive. This scheme is facilitated by the Tramore Unit of the Order of Malta. The Order of Malta Ireland is a recognised training institute of the Pre-Hospital Emergency Council and in keeping with this designation utilises the Cardiac First Response programme as the standard life support training within the organisation.

Stay safe this Bank Holiday weekend ☀️

This June Bank Holiday

01/06/2023

With the June Bank Holiday weekend approaching, the National Ambulance Service are asking people to consider all care options before presenting at Emergency Departments.

Bank holiday weekends and extended good weather usually bring additional pressure on the hospital system and the National Ambulance Service.

Serious incidents, accidents and injuries can’t always be avoided, but if you require medical treatment over the Bank Holiday weekend, it’s important to know that there are a range of local care options available to you that don’t necessarily involve a trip to the Emergency Department, including your local Injury Unit, GP Out of Hours service or your local Pharmacist.
