A great night training with our ambulance corps members. Great to see so many of our younger and newer members engaging so well tonight.

We started the night with a presentation from Tanya, Kayla and Brid on their recent trip to Lourdes with Order of Malta.

This was followed by scenarios of a medical emergency, a leg fracture and a cardiac arrest.
While another group practiced ambulance operations and use of radios.

Thanks to Con, Tanya, Lorna, Kieran and Derek for facilitating the night.

This week is where all are celebrated. While we would love to tell you about all our thousands of amazing volunteers who give up their time and skills so generously to their community, today we want to give a shout out to the Community First Responder group from Order of Malta Ireland - Ambulance Corps - Tramore Unit

Made up entirely of volunteers who respond to emergencies in their community, to end of April they have:
🚨 Responded to 36 call outs including to patients experiencing cardiac arrest, chest pain, strokes, and trauma
💛 Two ROSC (Return of Spontaneous Circulation), meaning their intervention lead to someone in cardiac arrests heart starting again
🚑 Demand for their assistance is increasing with more than three times as many calls responded to in April than January

Well done to all in Tramore for continuing to serve your communities - ,
