Over 100 students graduated from LCFE courses last night at the Longford Arms Hotel. 🎓

It was a wonderful ceremony celebrating the hard work and achievements of our learners, with family and friends there to support them every step of the way.

Congratulations to all of the graduates, and best wishes for the exciting journey ahead! 👏

A Community of Practice session to support LWETB Special Education Teachers (SET) across LWETB schools recently took place at LWETB Connolly Campus. This training was to focus on trauma informed practices and inclusive practices to support student wellbeing and teacher and staff training.
Funded through The Teaching Council bursary, these training sessions are proving to be a valuable resource in supporting Special Education Teachers across LWETB schools.

Another fantastic All-Star event for LWETB school students was held recently at Clonkill GAA! Students from special classes across LWETB schools came together, accompanied by teachers and SNAs, whose support helped create a warm, welcoming, and truly inclusive atmosphere for everyone 💚
Transition Year students from Mullingar Community College and Castlepollard Community College played a key role on the day as part of their Gaisce Awards.
A fun day of participation, and inclusion, with a range of activities designed to encourage teamwork, creativity, and physical activity for all involved.
Special thanks to the TY students, handball coordinators, and the President of GAA Handball, who were all on hand to help deliver such a positive and engaging experience.

The second of our LWETB stakeholder meetings took place today in LWETB Further Education and Training, Connolly Campus, Longford, where staff gathered to participate in shaping our new Strategy Statement 2027-2031.

Siobhán Lynch, Chief Executive shared:
“ETBs are complex organisations, the strategy statement is like a satnav. It helps us stay on track. In the next 5 years everyone should feel like they belong, we are all in this together to build opportunities to ensure students and learners reach their full potential. Your (staff) view is important.”

Alan Shortt, Impetus shared: “everything is changing and the most important part is that you (staff) are part of it.”
