Starting and growing a business in the EU is difficult: there are 27 different national legal systems to navigate, and 60+ different types of company forms. These create delays, extra costs, and push many companies to expand outside the EU instead.

The European Commission wants to change that with EU Inc., a new, optional framework that makes it simpler, cheaper and faster to start and grow a business anywhere across Europe.

EU Inc. will mean that Irish businesses and founders can:
✅ Register a company in 48 hours, fully online, for a maximum of €100
✅ Operate across Europe under one set of rules = no paperwork in every country
✅ Attract investors with simplified share transfers and potential stock exchange access
✅ Recruit top talent with EU-wide employee stock options

EU Inc. is currently a proposal and will need to be agreed by EU governments and the European Parliament. The Commission aim for a deal by the end of 2026.

WE ƎΛ∀H A ˥∀Ǝᗡ! 🇪🇺🇦🇺

Different hemisphere. Same direction. 🌏

The EU–Australia Free Trade Agreement is set to:

📈 Increase EU exports by up to 33% over the next decade
💶 Add up to €17.7 billion in annual exports
💰 Save EU companies around €1 billion a year in duties

For businesses, it means:

🚢 Over 99% of tariffs on EU goods removed
💼 Access to key services sectors
🏛 Greater access to Australian public procurement
💻 No data localisation requirements
📊 A dedicated chapter to support SMEs

For Europe, it means stronger supply chains with a trusted partner rich in critical raw materials. It also strengthens the EU’s presence in the Indo-Pacific and diversifies our trade partnerships.

And strong sustainability commitments are built in.

Every wondered how to run a Clothes Swap in your community?
Clothes swaps encourage reuse and cut down on textile waste in a fun, social way 👗👚👕👖

We're holding two workshops in Waterford Central Library with Change Clothes & Waterford City and County Council to help you learn how to organise your own community clothes swap from start to finish!

These interactive two-hour workshops provides a hands-on guide to organising a community clothes swap from start to finish.

Alongside practical guidance on logistics, space setup and stock management, participants will explore common challenges, problem-solve real-world scenarios, and begin planning a swap tailored to their own community.

The sessions also cover promotion, accessibility, and what to do with leftover clothing. By the end, participants will leave with a clear, realistic plan to run their own local swap and the confidence to put it into action.

There are two workshops to choose from, both on Friday 17th April in Central Library, Lady Lane, Waterford, X91 V045.
