to John Tierney, our longest serving member of staff with 42years of service clocked up as of today. That’s a lot of people looked after and taken care of by him in the pre-hospital setting.

Congratulations on the milestone John & have a great day celebrating your birthday. 🎁

Inter Agency Training took place yesterday involving the National Ambulance Service (NAS) & the volunteers of Order of Malta Ireland Ambulance Corps - Waterford Unit Order of Malta Ireland - Ambulance Corps - Tramore Unit, Dunmore East Coast Guard , Irish Coast Guard - Tramore Unit. Waterford Civil Defence. Dr. Paul Campbell Critical - Emergency Medical Response was also in attendance. All responding to a multiple vehicle road traffic collision.

Our crews helped assess, triage and transported almost 50 patients from the scene over the course of the exercise.

This exercise was carried out to test the Incident Commander structure, a course recently completed by the NAS managers who participated.

A huge amount of learning took place and a lot of pressure placed on them - well done to them!

A huge huge thank you to all who participated & contributed to a very successful exercise, from the crews to the patients (who all came from the voluntary groups). Lots of work went into making this event work behind the scenes over the last few months.

A special mention and thank you to Waterford Recovery Service for providing a safe area for our teams to train as well as Jack Molloy Catering for feeding the very hungry patients and crews afterwards.

This week was National Water Safety Awareness Week and Water Safety Ireland had some brilliant tips for staying safe near water.
