The Airport Fire Service provides ICAO Aerodrome Cat.2 rescuing services while Cat.6 is available with 24 prior notice to Airport Operations. The Airport Fire Service provide cover from 7am - 9pm while providing 24hr cover for SAR based Rescue 117. The AFRS (Airport Fire & Rescue Service) consists of three crews with a total of 14 Fire Fighters, 3 Station Officers and 1 Chief Fire Officer. Fire Fighters also fill Aviation Operation and Aviation Security duties at the Airport.
