This is a more detailed view of our proposal fror a greenway to follow the route of the old railway to Macmine and then along the River Slaney to Enniscorthy. The Wexford Greenway has the potential to bring tourism to rural Wexford, boosting local businesses and encouraging rural developement. So many villages in rural Wexford have lost their shops, pubs, post offices and sense of community. A greenway can bring life back to these villages, similar to what the successful Waterford Greenway achieved. The Wexford Greenway will also create a safe space for leisure, away from the dangers of road traffic which will encourage people of all ages to part take in a healthy lifestyle and using it to cycle to their local schools and sports clubs. And if the Wexford Greenway is built, it will be part of a Greenway Network from Enniscorthy to Dungarvan, making it even more attractive to visitors within Ireland and abroad.
