It was great to chat with Kathleen Funchion-Sinn Féin and Johnny Mythen T.D. Wexford about the work of Wexford Volunteer Centre and the vital role volunteers play across County Wexford.

Every day, volunteers support communities, charities, sports clubs, youth groups, health services and countless local initiatives that make a real difference to people’s lives. So many essential services and activities depend on the dedication, generosity and commitment of volunteers.

We greatly appreciate the opportunity to highlight the importance of volunteering and to discuss how we can continue to support and strengthen volunteerism across County Wexford for years to come.

You can nominate the Volunteers who, in your opinion, truly deserves recognition!

National Volunteer Week 2026 💜💛

What a week it was and what we achieved together! 🙌

The week began with the Abilities in Action Workshop for Relay for Life, alongside incredible groups and participants, and we are truly grateful for everyone who took part 💫

Next came the biggest highlight of the week, the Volunteer & Community Expo 2026 🎉
We were so proud to welcome and showcase 52+ active organisations across County Wexford, while more than 200 people attended the expo to connect, learn, and celebrate community spirit 🤝✨

We also proudly announced our new Volunteer Rewards Card 🎁 and officially opened nominations for the County Wexford Volunteer Awards 2026 🏆
You can now nominate the people who you believe deserve recognition for their amazing contribution to the community ❤️

Our greatest achievement was hearing the positive feedback from groups and attendees. We are incredibly thankful for the support, energy, and community spirit shown throughout the week and we are already looking forward to next year already! 🌟

A massive thank you to all 52 community groups, charities and services who took a stand at our Expo last Thursday in the Talbot Hotel. It was a fantastic day of recruitment, networking, collaboration and recognition of the incredible work happening across County Wexford every day.
