Last Friday, supporters of Wexford FC made a statement to kick Zionism out of sport and out of Ireland, in solidarity with the people of Palestine.

The Connolly Youth Movement in Wexford commends the Slaneyside Crew and supporters, much of whom are young people attending games in and out. Whatever issues arise in our working class communities, Palestinian liberation and the issues facing working class youth are deeply felt, even in the sports we enjoy.

All members in the Connolly Youth Movement, Cumann Loch Garman stand fully behind the residents of Hazelwood as they face mass eviction at the hands of Martin Sinnott of Patchflow Ltd.

With the recent PR spin in the landlord's favour, it should be understood that no resident has recieved a written termination of their evictions. Families are still being subjected to damp and mould as well as crumbling infrastructure from home to home.

We support the residents three open demands: for a written and unconditional termination of their notices to quit, for repairs to be done on all housing infrastructure under Patchflow tenure and for there to be formal negotiations between the Hazelwood CATU Committee and Martin Sinnott.

Up Hazelwood! ✊🇮🇪🚩

This International Working Women’s Day, we call on all working-class women and youth to join the Connolly Youth Movement as we take to the streets in Belfast, Cork, and Dublin.

On 8th March, we mark the 116th anniversary of the day's conception. Be it textile workers in Petrograd to the mill workers of Belfast, we follow on the militant struggles of women who refuse to accept exploitation, gendered violence, or political repression.

Across Ireland we continue, as working-class women's emancipation is the struggle for socialism!

In Belfast, our members are gathering at Writer's Square from 11:30am (this Saturday). In Cork, we will be at Grand Parade from 2:30pm following up the protest with a screening of Bread & Roses at the IWU Office at 6:30pm on Sunday. Our Dublin comrades will also meet on Sunday at 1pm at Barnardo's Square, and in the evening hold a talk and table quiz at Peadar Brown's from 8:00pm.

Bígí ann! 🇮🇪🚩

The past week has set two southeastern towns back massively, as the Aughrim, Avoca, and Slaney rivers burst their banks from severe rainfall in south Wicklow and Wexford.

As ruling politicians bemoan that "planning is planning" and they "cannot wave a magic wand" to bring in essential flood relief schemes, working class families are reefed out of homes around Arklow and Enniscorthy and need effective solutions.

Strengthening our towns from wreckage is all possible, but if it is not profitable- Leinster House and its local reps don't want to hear it.

Centrally planning our infrastructure, and making sure disasters are not "some tragedy" yet are instead actively prevented is a must. In Cuba for example, it is a robust Risk Management Centre that prevented over 50,000 people from losing everything during Hurricane Ian by unified command and preventative public care.

What we get in capitalist Ireland are frail local authorities, big businesses receiving their protections and ruling powers trying to distance themselves from executive responsibilities.

Our members in Wexford and South Wicklow stand in solidarity with working class families impacted by the floods and get behind all calls for public services to be rolled out for long-term weather protections.

CYM members in the Gorey area took part in a demonstration for Palestine, with local people young and old tirelessly working on building "Apartheid-Free Zones" and spreading the word on the genocide against the current of establishment media.

Our members have previously raised vital funds for .c.y's distribution campaigns for aid and resources on the ground. In whatever way we can, we will continue to support our comrades struggling amidst a violent colonial assault in Palestine.

While the Zionist entity and its partners look to make prime real estate of Gaza, with negligible "international law" and global institutions on its side, we will continue to stake a claim that the struggle for Palestine is the struggle against imperialism, and we must start that by focusing locally. That includes prominent enterprises that make money off the genocide, such as Wexford Town- based Danone and Coca-Cola.

If you're interested in our campaign to end genocidal complicity, get in touch with us! Saoirse don Phalaistín 🇮🇪🇵🇸
