Damian Flood threw a tenant's belongings away, with some of them being incredibly sensitive and personal.

No decency to allow our member Tina who had health issues plague her year, get any of her belongings at any manageable time was made.

We are demanding justice for Tina! 💚🏘️

Hazelwood residents are being kept in the dark.

AT LEAST 37 households received eviction notices in February. Revocation letters came but the landlord still hasn't told anyone what happens next. Sell? Refurbish? Let them stay? All has been silent here in south Wexford.

Meanwhile, mould, leaks, rats, and broken heating go unfixed.

We're done waiting. We're doing a phone and email picket the property management, Patchflow Ltd (formerly Lava Capital).

Last week, CATU South Wicklow-Wexford went doorknocking and leaflet-dropped in Ard Uisce, Wexford Town. 🏘️💚

Responses from residents were overwhelmingly positive, with many who were unaware of CATU’s presence expressing their gratitude for the union’s commitments.

Despite the majority of Ard Uisce residents being homeowners, engagement was still high. With approx. 30% of Irish residents living in rented accommodation (ESRI 2023), it is important for CATU to build relations with homeowners as well as tenants.

Jack and Simon (pictured) reported that leaflets were taken by many Ard Uisce homeowners on behalf of relatives, friends and co-workers.

In all, the day was a great success with similar doorknocking events to follow in Wexford town. For information on getting involved, send us a DM or follow the link in our bio.

Stable, warm, and secure homes for all in Wicklow! 💚🏘️

Our union is building people power so we can fight off evictions and guarantee safe and secure homes for everyone in need of one in Wicklow.

We're doing this by putting power into our communities- we won't stop escalating until Wicklow County Council provide what they rightfully can to our members.

We have a petition to show the council our communities in Wicklow are behind the families.

We had a great time at chatting to locals new to CATU, and also unfamiliar with what we do. We also got to chat about our ongoing work in Hazelwood against the infamous attempt to evict at least 39 households in Bridgetown.

The union model we stick by fights for tenants and our communities, against evictions, repairs needed in the home, and for public services. We continue to take these issues to those responsible who have the power to fix them, so landlords or the County Council.

The residents of Collins St need your help this week! 💚🏘️

CATU Ireland were out today with residents as we held a lovely community day. Thanks so much for all who could come along!

Unfortunately, SD Group is trying to force these families out, so we will need town-wide help as families with children and retired parents are now at serious risk of homelessness! Shame on SD Group for their disregard to each family's welfare.

Wicklow County Council, this all cannot happen on your watch! The Collins St Four needs to be living safely and securely.

CATU South Wicklow-Wexford, its members in Arklow, and wider community support will be with the residents every step of the way- this is all our fight!

Thank you to everyone who dropped by to bring beautiful contributions of poetry, stories, and songs in STRIKE! today with . 💚🏘️

Wexford is steeped in a history in workers' struggle and it is only right we try to fight back on housing to the level the 1911 Lockout had on the right to join a union.

We have a union here, a union for outside the workplace in our communities, so it is only right we remind ourselves that the hard work for better housing and eviction resistance does not come at election time, but in our everyday work. We will be knocking on doors to find the issues faced estate to estate, so keep an eye out! 👏
