What a fabulous day yesterday attending a well organised tour of community and economic projects funded by the LEADER programme.

The Local Action Group and the LEADER evaluation committee were shown around some very well delivered projects at :

Enniscorthy Community Allotments,
Green tech HQ,
Blackstairs Glamping and
Rathnure community garden.

Wonderful to witness the results of this targeted funding that is so carefully and strategically allocated to deliver maximum return.

Thank you to LEADER team at Wexford Local Development for a very enjoyable day.

Well done and thank you to all the Fleadh Volunteers!! 👏👏👏

✨The Rotary Club of Wexford Sassmannhausen Award was presented to Marian and Greg O’Leary, Volunteer Team Leads and Ronan Griffin, Volunteer Coordinator. This award was accepted on behalf of over 1,000 Fleadh volunteers. These amazing volunteers helped make both the 2024 and 2025 Fleadh an amazing success – thank you.

🏆The Wexford Sassmannshausen Award was created in honour of Jurgen Sassmannhausen who helped establish the Wexford Rotary Club in 1979. The award recognises those who make noteworthy contributions in their community.

CLÁR (Ceantair Laga Árd-Riachtanais) is a targeted investment programme for rural areas that aims to provide funding for small infrastructural projects in designated rural areas that have experienced significant levels of de-population and/or socio-economic disadvantage and geographic remoteness. The programme is funded by the Department of Rural & Community Development & the Gaeltacht (DRCDG).

Wexford County Council invites Expressions of Interest (EOI) from schools, community and voluntary groups and local development companies that may have a suitable project for consideration under the Scheme. Projects proposed must be located a CLÁR area.

Applications close this Friday 15th May at 5pm.
