Wexford Arts Office are proud to support 19 Wexford artists who have been awarded bursaries through the ArtLinks programme for 2026 totalling €40,000.

ArtLinks is a partnership of four local authorities Arts Offices - Wexford, Carlow, Kilkenny and Waterford- whose remit is to support artists across the Southeast to develop their arts practices in all art forms. In total €110,000 was awarded in 2026 to artists in the SouthEast across a broad range of art forms including music, visual arts, literature, theatre, film, street arts & spectacle, traditional arts, circus and multidisciplinary practices.

Commenting on this year’s ArtLinks awards Liz Burns Arts Officer for Wexford County Council noted

“Wexford arts office received its highest intake of applications this year with 70 Wexford based artists applying. This is testament to the huge amount of artistic and creative activity happening in the county. Investing in our artists is hugely important and with increased funding of €40,000 allocated to ArtLinks in 2026, we were able to support 19 artists to develop their practices”.

ArtLinks is supported by the Arts Council of Ireland and the four local authorities. Its remit is to provide professional development opportunities and supports, for artists at all stages of their careers, to develop their arts practices.

Artists who are resident within the four partner Local Authorities can register for membership by contacting [email protected] for a registration form.

Don't miss these free accessible creative dance workshops with dance artist Juliet Zmorrod. The workshops are designed for young people with limited mobility and complex additional needs. Juliet is passionate about working with communities who might not otherwise be easily able to access contemporary dance and movement as an art form. We're delighted to be able to facilitate these workshops with funding from the Artist in the Community scheme. Places at the workshop are very limited so we advise you book early to avoid disappointment. See the poster below for dates and contact information. One Voice Festival 2026: A Festival of Memories
Open call for short plays.

Wexford Arts Centre in association with Paul Walsh Productions is delighted to present the sixth year of running the One Voice Festival – a festival of short ten minute plays for one voice to be written and performed by local Wexford County resident writers and performers. The festival is supported by the Wexford County Council Small Festival Grant scheme and Arts Council.

The One Voice Festival has supported local writing and performing talent in Wexford and beyond nationally and internationally and provided new entertaining stories set in Wexford for local community and visitors enjoyment.

The One Voice Festival performances will run at Wexford Arts Centre Thursday 6th August to Saturday 8th August 19.30 pm nightly.

We have opportunity for selecting five of the short plays from open call submissions in addition to invited submissions from Wexford based writers and are interested to hear from new voices. We wish to include diverse voices from all communities in Wexford and beyond nationally and internationally.

This year’s theme is inspired by the exhibition that will be in situ in our galleries during the One Voice festival. ‘Memory of a Free Festival’ is a touring exhibition conceived by Ormston House which draws on and rejoins the Anti-Nuclear festivals that took place annually in Carnsore Point in Wexford between 1978 and 1981.

Artworks by Orla Barry, Brian Duggan, and Alanna O’Kelly are at the heart of the exhibition. The short plays could be themed around memories of participation in these festivals or other lifetime memories that could be inspirational, funny or moving. The plays should be no longer than 10 minutes in duration and be written for one voice/actor to perform. We welcome all genres in drama and comedy. A separate sheet with contact details should accompany the play for open call consideration. Please don’t note name or contact details on the play script.

A small fee of €150 will be paid for each short play chosen for the festival programme in 2023. We encourage and welcome submissions from people of all genders, nationalities, races, cultural backgrounds, ages, religions, languages, abilities, sexual orientations and socio-economic statuses.

Submissions can be
