Lowland Leader Open Day in Bunclody, Wexford

Delivering by WWETB & Get Ireland Walking and supported by Sports Active Wexford, this open day is for people who are interested in walking activities, outdoor leadership, and becoming part of growing walking networks within their communities. This Open Day will include a guided walk, led by a qualified Lowland Leader who will share their personal experience of the course and the opportunities it has created for them.

Apply Now: 2026/27 Canoeing Ireland L3 River Kayak Instructor Course

Our extremely popular Canoeing Ireland (CI) Level 3 River Kayak Instructor Short Course is now open for applications for the 2026/27 season. This programme has been aligned with the QQI Level 6 Minor Award in River Kayak Instructional Skills (6N5192). This accredited module equips learners with the knowledge, skills, and competence to apply differentiated teaching strategies in adventure sports coaching.

Course Overview:

Duration: 16 weeks
Schedule: 2 days per week (Mondays & Tuesdays)
Start Date: October 2026
End Date: Early March 2027
Location: South East (training venues vary based on water conditions)

The Wexford event is supported by Sports Active Wexford.

These open events are designed for anyone interested in:

Starting their journey in recreational walking activities
Learning more about the Lowland Leader qualification
Connecting with local walking communities and outdoor networks

Our fully funded QQI Level 5 Outdoor Sports and Recreation course is now accepting applications. Complete this as a full time course or as a module only based course, the choice is up to you!

Commencing mid September, each day runs from 9.30-4pm. Modules include:

Wednesday : Kayaking, Bunclody based
Thursday : Lowland Leader ( hillwalking)
2 courses - Bunclody and Kilmacthomas, Waterford
Friday : Canoeing, Bunclody

Commencing April 27:
Thursday : Mountain biking
