**Simulation, Simulation, Simulation **

🚨🩹 Lights, sirens… and Oscar-worthy casualties! 🎭🚑

Our volunteers had an incredible opportunity to join the The ATACC Group (Anaesthesia, Trauma & Critical Care) Course for a Mass Casualty (MASCAS) exercise — and their mission? To become the patients 😵‍💫🩸

🎭 Bringing injuries to life (with some impressive acting skills!)
🚒 Working alongside colleagues from Wicklow Fire Service , Community First Responders, Dublin-Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team
🚑 Supporting learning across all levels
🧠 Helping create realistic training for critical emergency scenarios

🎉 Congratulations to two of our volunteers Anthony MacDonald and Jack Dempsey who have successfully passed their PHECC OSCE examinations and completed their Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) course! 🚑👏

This achievement is the result of months of hard work, dedication, and commitment to developing their skills and providing the highest standard of care to their community.

We are incredibly proud of both Anthony and Jack and wish them all the best in their practice as EMTs.

Today Civil Defence volunteers nationally took part in a Radiation Monitoring Exercise carried out in conjunction with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Civil Defence Ireland

Exercises like this are an important part of maintaining readiness and ensuring our teams are trained to support national emergency response capabilities when required.

A big thank you to all the volunteers who gave their time and effort to take part in today’s exercise.

✔️ The Wicklow Biking Festival on the Murrough

Thank you to our colleagues in Wexford Civil Defence for their continued support and outstanding volunteers. We truly love working with you.

Alongside event duties, volunteers also completed a First Aid Responder course, and we’re delighted to have new FARs now up and running within the unit. 👏

A huge thank you to all our volunteers for their continued dedication, professionalism, and teamwork throughout another packed week of activity.
