Yesterday, an Embassy representative participated in the celebration of the 120th anniversary of the Helsinki synagogue. The cultural program was rich and included launch of a virtual Jewish museum, a book with a new look on the Finnish Jewish cultural life over decades as well as musical performances. The official part of the program included greetings of the honorary chair of the community Gideon Bolotowsky, current chair Chaya Votkin, Minister Sari Essayah and many others. Mazel tov!

Extraordinary Finnish trombonist Kasperi Sarikoski will be performing at the International Jaffa Jazz Festival 3-5 September 2026. He will play in six concerts, including concert inspired by groundbreaking songs of the Beatles' Revolver. Sarikoski is leading an exceptional international ensemble joined by acclaimed Australian vocalist Alma Zygier. Together they celebrate the world's most influential band with fresh, inventive jazz interpretations full of energy, emotion, and musical brilliance.

Commander of the Finnish Defence Forces visited Israel – themes discussed included the security situation in the Middle East, air defence and Lebanon.

The Commander of the Defence Forces, General Janne Jaakkola, visited Israel from 3 to 6 August 2026. The visit focused on discussions on the evolution of the security environment in the area as well as developing multilayered air defence in a challenging operating environment.
