Nakikiisa and Embahada ng Pilipinas sa Tel Aviv at ang Pamayanang Pilipino sa Israel sa pagdiriwang ng Araw ng mga Bayani ngayong ika-31 ng Agosto.

Sa araw na ito, binibigyang pugay ang pagpupunyagi, pagpapakasakit, at sa maraming pagkakataon - pagbubuwis ng buhay, nga ating mga bayani para sa ating bansa. Dahil sa kanilang sakripisyo, tinatamasa natin ngayong ang kalayaan at kaunlaran.

Pinapasalamatan natin ang lahat ng ating mga pambansang bayani, pati na rin ang ating mga makabagong bayani sa panahong ito, tulad ng ating mga maggagawa at mga OFWs na nasa ibayong dagat.

LOOK: Taste the Philippines: A Culinary Journey Across the Islands

The Philippine Embassy in Tel Aviv hosted a special evening for top Israeli tour industry executives, bringing the flavors, stories, and culinary diversity of the Philippines to the table.

The centerpiece was a hand carved map of the Philippines, with regional dishes thoughtfully arranged on the islands and regions where they originated, allowing guests to quite literally eat their way from one end of the Philippines to the other. From Pampanga sisig, Bacolod chicken inasal, and Mindanao pastil to Tausug putli mandi, the showcase highlighted the rich culinary traditions of the Philippines’ diverse regions.

The evening also highlighted the Philippines’ debut in the MICHELIN Guide in 2026, with 108 establishments recognized across Manila and Cebu, including one restaurant with Two MICHELIN Stars, eight with One MICHELIN Star, 25 Bib Gourmand establishments, and 74 MICHELIN Selected restaurants. Guests were also introduced to contemporary interpretations of Filipino cuisine and explored a booklet featuring the MICHELIN Guide selections for Manila and Cebu.

The showcase also spotlighted ube and calamansi, two distinctly Filipino ingredients gaining growing international recognition. Ube featured in several preparations, including the contemporary Isla de Coconut, halo halo, and an ube liqueur, while calamansi was showcased with tuna and as a calamansi liqueur.

Guests were also introduced to a selection of Philippine made liquors, spirits, and beer, showcasing the country’s growing beverage scene and the diversity of locally produced drinks that complement Filipino cuisine.

The evening offered guests a flavorful journey across the Philippines, demonstrating how our regional culinary traditions continue to evolve while remaining deeply rooted in our diverse culture and heritage.

SUSPENSION OF CONSULAR SERVICES ON THURSDAY, 27 AUG 2026

The Embassy regrets to inform the public that consular services will be suspended on Thursday, 27 August 2026, due to demolition and asbestos removal work to be carried out at 22 Bnei Dan Street, the building next to the Embassy (18 Bnei Dan Street).

The Embassy will resume its normal operations on the next working day, Friday, 28 August 2026.

Ngayong International Dog Day, ibinabahagi namin ang larawan ni Pangulong Manuel Quezon kasama ang kanyang alagang a*o na isang Harlequin Great Dane.

Ang Harlequin Great Dane ay isang lahi ng a*o na nagmula sa Alemanya (Germany). Karaniwan itong may puting balahibo na may malalaki at hindi regular na itim na batik, na kahawig ng makulay na kasuotan ng mga paya*ong harlequin. Kilala ang Great Dane bilang isang malaki ngunit maamo at palakaibigang a*o.

Kasama sina Pangulong Quezon at ang kanyang alagang a*o sa maraming kawili-wiling kuwento na tampok sa aklat na Dogs in Philippine History ni historyador Ian Alfonso, na naglalahad sa mahalagang papel ng mga a*o sa kultura at lipunang Pilipino.

Ngayong Agosto, ipinagdiriwang ang Buwan ng Wika at ginugunita and kapanganakan (Agosto 19) at pagpanaw (Agsoto 1) ni Pangulong Quezon.

TINGNAN: Buwan ng Wika Ipinagdiwang sa Israel

Nakiisa ang Philippine Embassy in Tel Aviv sa pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wika na inorganisa ng Federation of Filipino Communities in Israel (FFCI).

Ipinaabot ni Consul General Val Simon Roque ang pagbati at mensahe ni Ambassador Aileen S. Mendiola sa mga dumalo, kalakip ang pagpupugay sa FFCI sa kanilang pagsisikap na itaguyod ang pagpapahalaga sa wikang pambansa at sa iba’t ibang wika at dayalekto ng Pilipinas.

Bukod sa pagmamahal sa ating sariling wika, ipinamalas din ng FFCI ang yaman at ganda ng kulturang Pilipino sa pamamagitan ng mga tradisyunal na awitin at sayaw, pati na rin ang pagsusuot ng Filipiniana.

Ang pagdiriwang ay nagsilbing pagkakataon upang mapanatili at maipasa sa susunod na henerasyon ang ating wika, kultura, at mga tradisyon, at higit pang mapatatag ang pagkakaisa ng pamayanang Pilipino sa Israel.

Nagpapasalamat ang Embahada sa FCCI, sa pangunguna ni President Jubay Taynan, at sa buong lupon ng mga opisyal para sa matagumpay at makabuluhang pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wika.

Ipinagdiriwang ito tuwing Agosto bilang pagkilala rin kay Pangulong Manuel Quezon, na kinikilalang Ama ng Wikang Pambansa dahil sa kanyang mahalagang papel sa pagtataguyod ng pagkakaroon ng isang wikang magbubuklod sa mga Pilipino.

LOOK: 59 Years of ASEAN Celebrated in Israel

The Philippine Embassy in Tel Aviv joined the Embassies of Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, and Viet Nam in celebrating the 59th ASEAN Day at the Thailand-Israel Friendship Pavilion at Ben Shemen Forest in central Israel.

Thai Ambassador H.E. Boonyarit Vichienpuntu, host of this year’s celebration, welcomed the guests and expressed appreciation to KKL-JNF for generously providing the venue. He commended the Philippines for its successful ASEAN Chairship this year, noting the progress made in advancing economic cooperation and the completion of roadmaps on the digital economy, semiconductor production, and supply chain resilience. He conveyed his best wishes to Singapore as it prepares to assume the ASEAN Chairship for the 60th anniversary of ASEAN in 2027.

Mr. Sagi Karni, Head for Southeast Asia and India at the Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs, highlighted the expanding cooperation with the members of ASEAN who are present in Israel and expressed appreciation for the longstanding partnership.

Philippine Ambassador Aileen S. Mendiola noted, “As ASEAN Chair this year, the Philippines continues to work closely with fellow ASEAN members in responding to present challenges, while keeping a clear focus on advancing our region’s progress moving forward.”

The celebration brought together officials of KKL-JNF, Ambassadors and diplomats from Asia-Pacific countries, Israeli friends and partners from the business community, and members of the ASEAN communities in Israel.

A highlight of the gathering was a showcase of ASEAN’s rich culinary traditions, with each country sharing its traditional dishes, desserts, and drinks, including Myanmar’s lahpet thoke, Singaporean rendang, Thailand’s pad thai, and Vietnamese pho.

The Philippines proudly showcased chicken inasal, fish balls, and tibok-tibok, complemented by a selection of Philippine beers.
The celebration provided an opportunity to highlight the friendship, diversity, and growing connections between ASEAN member countries and Israel, while bringing together the ASEAN community in Israel in a spirit of camaraderie and shared appreciation for the region’s rich cultures and traditions.

The Philippine Embassy in Tel Aviv and the Filipino community in the Holy Land join in commemorating the 43rd anniversary of the martyrdom of Senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino, Jr.

Ninoy was a leading senator and civil servant who served in various branches of government in the 1950s to 1970s. He was recognized as one of the leaders of the opposition and was one of the first arrested after Martial Law was proclaimed in 1972. He was imprisoned for seven years from 1972 to 1980 when he was allowed to move to the United States to get treatment for his heart disease. On 21 August 1983, he returned home to the Philippines and was assassinated minutes after his plane landed at the then-Manila International Airport.

His death is recognized as one of the most important events in the history of Martial Law and the restoration of democracy in the Philippines. His wife, Corazon "Cory" Aquino, served as the 11th President of the Philippines (1986-1992) after the peaceful 1986 EDSA People Power Revolution; meanwhile his son Benigno "Noynoy" S. Aquino III served as the 15th President of the Philippines from 2010 to 2016.

The day of his death is a Special Non-Working Holiday in recognition of his heroism by virtue of Republic Act No. 9256.
