On 26.08.2026, Sri Suman Malla, IFS, DMU Chief, North Tripura, visited and inspected the 5.00 Ha AR Misc. Enrichment Plantation under Gobindapara JFMC, Kanchancherra Beat, being implemented under the SCATFORM Project.

During the visit, the progress of key activities, including restocking with prescribed Tree and NTFP species and fencing, was inspected to ensure quality implementation and effective management of the plantation.

A field visit was conducted by Smt. Banumathi. G., IFS, CEO & PD, JICA, along with Shri Akshay Balu Bhorde, IFS, DMU Chief, West Tripura, to review the Agroforestry and Trees Outside Forests (TOF) plantations undertaken during the current financial year under Subalsingh RMU, West DMU.

During the visit, the CEO & PD inspected the plantation sites and interacted with the beneficiaries to assess the progress of the interventions. Necessary instructions were given for regular monitoring of the plantations and for creating greater awareness among the beneficiaries to ensure effective implementation, proper maintenance, and long-term sustainability.

Today, Program Manager Smt. Mousami Deb visited the ongoing 7-day Bamboo Handicrafts Training Programme being conducted for SHG group under Subalsing RMU, West DMU.

During the visit, she interacted with the SHG members and observed the ongoing hands-on training activities. She encouraged the participants to make effective use of the skills being acquired through the programme and explore opportunities for value addition, entrepreneurship and sustainable income generation.

A 7-Day Bamboo Handicrafts Training Programme is underway from 10–16 August 2026 at Kambokchara Beat under West Tripura DMU.

It is a matter of immense pride that three members of Hapung Hathai SHG, under the SCATFORM Project, Padmabil Range, Khowai District, had the honour of attending the National Handloom Day celebration today at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre, New Delhi.

Representing the weavers of Tripura on this prestigious national occasion is a remarkable achievement and a proud recognition of the rich handloom traditions, skills and cultural heritage of our state.

Their participation reflects the growing recognition of our rural women artisans and the efforts towards strengthening sustainable livelihoods and empowering SHG members under the SCATFORM Project.

National Handloom Day was celebrated at Chankhala under Padmabil RMU, Khowai DMU under SCATFORM Department, Forest Department, with the participation of SHG members.
The programme included the inauguration of a handloom training programme for SHG members and distribution of e-Pehchan Cards, aimed at strengthening traditional handloom skills, recognising artisans and promoting sustainable livelihood opportunities.

A field visit was conducted today to Killa RMU by the CEO & PD, Director (M&E), Team Leader, PMC and Gender Coordinator to assess the feasibility and potential for formation of livelihood clusters in the area. The DMU Chief, Gomati and other officials were also present during the meeting.

During the visit, the team reviewed the active participation of JFMC and SHG members in various livelihood activities and assessed the existing opportunities, local potential and suitability for developing cluster-based livelihood interventions.

The proposed cluster approach aims to strengthen existing livelihood activities, enhance income-generating opportunities and promote sustainable and community-led livelihood development.

A 3-Day Beekeeping Training Programme was successfully organized for members of SHGs under Kanchipur RMU, North Tripura DMU to promote sustainable livelihoods through scientific beekeeping.

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from members of Naithok SHG under Khumtaihata JFMC and Nathokti SHG under Tubuihatai JFMC. Participants received hands-on training on modern beekeeping techniques, hive management, colony care, honey harvesting, and the economic potential of apiculture.

The initiative aims to strengthen livelihood opportunities, encourage sustainable income generation, and enhance community participation in forest-based enterprises under the Tripura JICA Project (SCATFORM).
