HIV/AIDS awareness cm Comprehensive Health Check-up was organised at ICFAI University Mizoram on 2nd September, 2026 in collaboration with NHM & Doctors Against HIV/AIDS (DAHA).

The students and Staffs who have accessed the free Health Clinic were provided basic medical care along with prescribed medicines.
A total of 200 people attended the awareness programme.

Mizoram State AIDS Control Society (MSACS), in partnership with FHI conducted one-day Sensitization cm Training on the National AIDS Control Program for District AIDS Control Officers (DACOs) at Royale Lalawi on 1st Sept 2026, Tuesday. MSACS Project Director Dr. Jane Rinsangi Ralte led deliberations on district achievements under Mission AIDS Suraksha (MAS) and outlined measures to bridge operational gaps to achieve the global 95-95-95 targets. FHI Master Trainers oriented officials on critical Index Testing Service indicators and implementation toolkits. The meeting resolved to equip DACOs with constituency- and village-level PLHIV mapping to roll out prioritized screening and specialized health camps in high-burden areas.

HIV/AIDS Awareness Campaign-cum-Comprehensive Health Check-Up

An HIV/AIDS Awareness Campaign-cum-Comprehensive Health Check-Up was organised at the National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT), Aizawl, by the Mizoram State AIDS Control Society (MSACS) in collaboration with the National Health Mission (NHM) and Doctors Against HIV/AIDS (DAHA).

The programme aimed to create awareness about HIV/AIDS and sexually transmitted infections, promote HIV testing and early diagnosis, reduce stigma and discrimination, and encourage individuals to adopt healthy and responsible behaviours. The comprehensive health check-up also provided participants with an opportunity to access essential health screening.

Meeting on HIV Response in Mizoram

A meeting was held on 28 August 2026 in the Office Chamber of the Hon’ble Health Minister, chaired by Pi Lalrinpuii, Hon’ble Health Minister, with representatives from CYMA, MHIP, MUP, YLA, LWA, MCHP, MTP, AMWF, and officials of the Mizoram State AIDS Control Society (MSACS).

The meeting focused on strengthening the HIV response in Mizoram, including enhancing HIV awareness, promoting testing and early detection, reducing stigma and discrimination, and strengthening the involvement of civil society organisations in HIV prevention and support services.

Strengthening the HIV/AIDS Response in Mizoram

A meeting was held on 28th August 2026 at the Office Chamber of the Hon’ble Health Minister, with representatives of the Mizoram Kohhran Hruaitute Committee (MKHC), Council of Churches in Mizoram (CCM), and officials of the Mizoram State AIDS Control Society (MSACS). The meeting was chaired by Pi Lalrinpuii, Hon’ble Health Minister.
The meeting focused on strengthening the collective response to HIV/AIDS in Mizoram through greater awareness, HIV testing and early detection, reduction of stigma and discrimination, treatment and care, and increased involvement of churches in reaching communities.

The meeting reaffirmed the importance of strong collaboration between the Government, churches, MSACS and communities in building a more effective and compassionate HIV response in Mizoram.
