Karuvatta

Karuvatta Karuvatta is a village in the Karthikapally taluk of Alappuzha district of the South Indian state of Kerala. Haripad is the nearest town.

Karuvatta lies on the borders of Kuttanad, one of Kerala's primary rice producing regions. Karuvatta is also famous for its annual snake boat race or vallamkali. Karuvatta is well-known for its communal harmony. There are many temples, churches and mosques in this small village. The two major temples are Thiruvilanjal Durga Devi Temple and Karuvattakulangara Sree Krishna Temple.
