Peer Learning Community (PLC) Meeting: Effective Classroom Observation Online Course
​Under the joint auspices of the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) AMBALA and SCERT Haryana, Gurugram, a Peer Learning Community (PLC) meeting was organized to mark the successful completion of the first two modules of the online course titled "Effective Classroom Observation." The meeting was held under the leadership of District Elementary Education Officer and DIET Principal, Smt Jyoti Rani , with the primary objective of enhancing quality in the modern teaching-learning process.
​Key Highlights of the Meeting:
​Focus on Quality: During his address, the District Elementary Education Officer congratulated all mentors on completing the first two modules and directed them to complete the remaining two modules as soon as possible. He emphasized that the true success of the course lies in witnessing quality-driven teaching and learning within actual classrooms.
​The Role of Mentors: He described the DIET faculty and mentors as the "vital link" for successfully implementing departmental projects in schools, stressing the importance of completing assigned tasks—especially this observation course—within the stipulated timeframe.
​Defining PLC: Program Coordinator and lecturer in Physical Education , Rajesh Kumar & Pooja Kalia BRP explained the meeting's agenda. They effectively illustrated the distinction between a "Peer Learning Community" meeting and a standard administrative meeting using various examples.
​Module Review: Co-coordinator Neha Kumari (BRP) revisited the key points of the first two modules: the Effective Classroom Observation Questionnaire and Classroom Environment.
​Interactive Learning: Rajesh Kumar further clarified essential elements of the classroom environment—such as creating a conducive atmosphere for learning and setting positive behavioral expectations—through activity-based group discussions among the mentors.
​Observations and Feedback:
​SCERT Commendation: Pooja, a member of the Learning for Equity team from SCERT Haryana, Gurugram, observed the entire session. In her concluding remarks, she praised the coordinators for their innovative approaches in organizing such an impactful meeting.
​Full Participation: The meeting saw 100% attendance from all mentors and DIET faculty members.
​Participant Insight: Participants sunil Kumar and Deepak Chaitrath provided feedback on the session, noting that collective discussions in such meetings naturally resolve doubts and clarify concepts.
