🛡️ BAIHATA CHARIALI PS STRIKES AGAINST DRUG TRAFFICKING

Acting on secret information, Baihata Chariali PS conducted a search at Nagaon on 01/09/2026.
Gautam Sarma (54), S/O Late Bolin Sarma, and Manash Sarma (27), S/O Gautam Sarma were apprehended in connection with the seizure.
23.831 Kg of suspected G***a, packed in 5 white polythene bags, was recovered and seized.
Cash amounting to ₹15,59,250/- was also recovered during the operation.
The seizure was made in the presence of independent witnesses and necessary legal action has been initiated as per law.

GOROIMARI PS CRACKS DOWN ON BUFFALO SMUGGLING

Illegal buffalo transportation operation conducted on 27/08/2026.

An Ashok Leyland four-wheeler bearing Reg. No. AS-01-UC-9741 was intercepted near Alikash.

Four suspected stolen buffaloes were recovered while being transported in an inhumane manner.

Two persons, Abedur Rahman and Alauddin Ali, were apprehended, and the buffaloes along with the vehicle were seized in the presence of independent witnesses.

Rangia Police Crack Down on Stolen Cattle Transportation

Rangia Police intercepted vehicle AS-15AC-8619 at Murara, Rangia, carrying 09 cattle on suspicion of illegal transportation.
The vehicle was detained following information received regarding the cattle and brought to Rangia PS along with two persons.
The persons were identified as Sah Alom Ahmed (34 yrs) and Sabul Hussain (45 yrs), both residents of Barpeta district.
Preliminary enquiry revealed that the cattle were being transported from Barpeta to Khanapara, Guwahati.
The vehicle and cattle have been taken into custody, and further enquiry is underway.
Necessary legal action is being initiated as per law.

15 Cattle Rescued During Naka Checking by Baihata Chariali Police

On 29-08-2026, Baihata Chariali Police intercepted truck AS-01-GC-9180 during naka checking on NH-27 and rescued 15 live cattle being transported in a cruel, congested and inhumane manner.

The vehicle attempted to flee towards Mangaldai side but was chased and intercepted at Khudrapalaha, NH-15.

Two persons, identified as Rajib Ali and Nurjamal Ali, were apprehended in connection with the transportation.

The truck, one mobile phone and the 15 cattle were seized under relevant provisions of law.

The rescued cattle were safely shifted to Suravi Goushala, Niz Borigog, and handed over for proper care, custody and protection.
