ਇੱਕ ਵੱਡੀ ਕਾਮਯਾਬੀ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ, ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰੇਟ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਗੈਰਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਹਥਿਆਰ ਤਸਕਰੀ ਮਾਡਿਊਲ ਦਾ ਪਰਦਾਫਾਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।

ਇਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਪੰਜ ਮੁਲਜ਼ਮਾਂ ਅਕਾਸ਼ਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਉਰਫ਼ ਅਕਾਸ਼, ਹਰਮਨਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਉਰਫ਼ ਹਰਮਨ, ਮਨੀਸ਼ ਸਿੰਘ ਉਰਫ਼ ਮਨੀਸ਼, ਕਿਸ਼ਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਨਾਬਾਲਿਗ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ 06 ਆਧੁਨਿਕ ਪਿਸਟਲ ਅਤੇ 14 ਜ਼ਿੰਦਾ ਰੌਂਦ ਬਰਾਮਦ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ।

ਮੁੱਢਲੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਆਕਾਸ਼ਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ @ ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਪਲੇਟਫਾਰਮਾਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਅਧਾਰਿਤ ਤਸਕਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੰਪਰਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੀ। ਗੈਰਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਹਥਿਆਰਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਖੇਪਾਂ ਅਟਾਰੀ ਸੈਕਟਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਰੋਨਾਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਮੰਗਵਾਈਆਂ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਦੇ ਸਾਥੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਨਾਲ ਅਪਰਾਧਿਕ ਤੱਤਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਈਆਂ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਸਨ।

ਇਸ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਥਾਣਾ ਕੈਂਟੋਨਮੈਂਟ, ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਵਿਖੇ ਮੁਕੱਦਮਾ ਦਰਜ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਅਗਲੇਰੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਜਾਰੀ ਹੈ।

In a major breakthrough, Commissionerate Police Amritsar has busted an illegal arms smuggling module.

During the operation, five accused namely Akashdeep Singh alias Akash, Harmandeep Singh alias Harman, Manish Singh alias Manish, Kishan Singh, and one juvenile were arrested. Police recovered 06 sophisticated pistols and 14 live cartridges from their possession.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that accused Akashdeep Singh @ Akash was in contact with Pakistan-based smugglers through social media platforms. Consignments of illegal weapons were being smuggled via drones in the Attari sector and further supplied to criminal elements with the help of his associates.

In this regard, a case has been registered at PS Cantonment and further investigation is underway.
