During his visit to NDDB, Anand; Shri Naresh Pal Gangwar, Secretary, Dept of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Min of FAHD, GoI interacted with beneficiaries of Breed Multiplication Farm (BMF) project under GoI’s Rashtriya Gokul Mission Scheme. Dr Meenesh C Shah, Chairman, NDDB; Ms Varsha Joshi, Additional Secretary, DAHD; and officials from DAHD and NDDB were also present during the interactions.

26 Beneficiaries from Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Keralam, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Telangana and Uttar Pradesh shared progress on the establishment of BMFs and their experiences in operationalising the farms.

In his address, Secretary, DAHD, highlighted the importance of fostering entrepreneurship in the dairy sector. He mentioned Government’s continued efforts to enhance the supply of quality animals, expand IVF facilities, ensure the availability of sex-sorted semen at the field level, strengthen insurance provisions and broaden training opportunities with NDDB’s support. Shri Gangwar also assured beneficiaries of full support in overcoming implementation challenges.

Reaffirming DAHD’s commitment to the scheme, Chairman, NDDB, assured continued technical and handholding support to the farms. He further encouraged beneficiaries to explore setting up biogas plants to meet part of their electricity requirements, thereby enhancing overall farm sustainability.

Dr. Meenesh C Shah, Chairman, NDDB, has been felicitated with the prestigious NAAS Industrialist Award by the National Academy of Agricultural Sciences (NAAS) on the occasion of its Foundation Day and 33rd Annual General Body Meeting on June 5, 2026.

This prestigious honour recognizes his visionary leadership and underscores NDDB’s impactful contributions to transforming India’s dairy landscape—championing sustainable cooperative models, empowering smallholders and driving rural prosperity across the nation. 🥛🌱

The ceremony was graced by distinguished agricultural leaders, including Dr. ML Jat, Secretary, Department of Agricultural Research and Education , MoA& FW, GOI , Director General, Indian Council of Agricultural Research & President, NAAS; Dr. PK Joshi, Vice President, NAAS; Dr. BS Dhillon, VP, NAAS and Dr. BS Dwivedi & Dr. Ashok K Singh, Secretary, NAAS. राष्ट्रीय कृषि विज्ञान अकादमी (NAAS) के स्थापना दिवस और 33वीं वार्षिक आम बैठक के अवसर पर, 5 जून 2026 को एनडीडीबी (NDDB) के अध्यक्ष डॉ. मीनेश शाह (Dr. Meenesh C Shah) को प्रतिष्ठित नास (NAAS) इंडस्ट्रियलिस्ट अवार्ड (औद्योगिक पुरस्कार) से सम्मानित किया गया है।

यह प्रतिष्ठित सम्मान उनके दूरदर्शी नेतृत्व को मान्यता देता है और भारत के डेयरी परिदृश्य को बदलने में एनडीडीबी के प्रभावशाली योगदान को रेखांकित करता है—जिसमें सतत सहकारी मॉडलों को बढ़ावा देना, छोटे किसानों को सशक्त बनाना और पूरे देश में ग्रामीण समृद्धि को आगे बढ़ाना शामिल है। 🥛🌱

Shri Vaibhav Srivastava, Managing Director, Pradeshik Cooperative Dairy Federation (PCDF) ( Parag Milk Uttar Pradesh ) had a meeting with Dr. Meenesh C Shah, Chairman, NDDB and had deliberations on collaborative strategies to take forward dairy cooperative sector in Uttar Pradesh including putting the dairy infrastructure of the PCDF and affiliated Milk Unions to effective use. The meeting was also attended by Shri S Rajeev, Executive Director, NDDB; Shri Raj Malik, Managing Director, IDMC Limited ; Shri Rajendra Saigal, OSD–Milk Manufacturing, Mother Dairy and other senior officials from PCDF and NDDB.

NDDB assured to provide necessary assistance to PCDF in undertaking multi-faceted interventions and chalking out an action plan for it while leveraging mutual strengths and also built partnerships including with the subsidiaries of NDDB.

NDDB showcased its open-source digital transformation journey at Frappe Yatra 2026 in Ahmedabad, where Shri AVR Kumar, Senior General Manager (ICT), NDDB presented NDERP, a next-generation ERP platform built on the Frappe Framework for dairy cooperatives.

Shri Kumar highlighted that NDERP processes over two million transactions and more than 1.1 million milk ledger transactions without latency, supporting critical dairy operations at scale. He emphasised that NDERP is not just a digitisation initiative but a future-ready open-source platform that offers greater technological ownership, flexibility and long-term sustainability for dairy cooperatives.

Mr Brian Lindsay, Director, DSF, visited India to review DSF Stage 1 sustainability pilots implemented with technical support from NDDB and discuss future collaborations.

During his visit, Mr Lindsay met Dr Meenesh C Shah, Chairman, NDDB & Governor from Dairy Asia Network, along with senior officials, to discuss expanding the engagement of Indian dairy cooperatives with DSF. Following successful pilots at Jharkhand Milk Federation (Medha- Taazgi Jharkhand Ki) & Shreeja, interest is growing across organisations to adopt structured sustainability approaches to showcase India’s efforts globally.

Dr Shah assured full support to share learnings through a national workshop. Discussions also explored showcasing India’s sustainability journey at the IDF World Dairy Summit 2027 and collaborating on a carbon crediting framework for smallholder dairy systems.

Mr Lindsay reviewed ground initiatives at Jharkhand Milk Federation (manure management & livelihoods) and Shreeja Mahila Milk Producer Organisation (feed improvement & animal health), highly appreciating their impact on women’s empowerment and rural economic development.
