During his visit to NDDB, Anand; Shri Naresh Pal Gangwar, Secretary, Dept of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Min of FAHD, GoI interacted with beneficiaries of Breed Multiplication Farm (BMF) project under GoI’s Rashtriya Gokul Mission Scheme. Dr Meenesh C Shah, Chairman, NDDB; Ms Varsha Joshi, Additional Secretary, DAHD; and officials from DAHD and NDDB were also present during the interactions.
26 Beneficiaries from Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Keralam, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Telangana and Uttar Pradesh shared progress on the establishment of BMFs and their experiences in operationalising the farms.
In his address, Secretary, DAHD, highlighted the importance of fostering entrepreneurship in the dairy sector. He mentioned Government’s continued efforts to enhance the supply of quality animals, expand IVF facilities, ensure the availability of sex-sorted semen at the field level, strengthen insurance provisions and broaden training opportunities with NDDB’s support. Shri Gangwar also assured beneficiaries of full support in overcoming implementation challenges.
Reaffirming DAHD’s commitment to the scheme, Chairman, NDDB, assured continued technical and handholding support to the farms. He further encouraged beneficiaries to explore setting up biogas plants to meet part of their electricity requirements, thereby enhancing overall farm sustainability.
