Mattan has always been known for its rich history, educated community, and respected leaders. That is why looking at the latest outstanding dues list from KPDCL (Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited) comes as a genuine SHOCK.
Seeing the names of well-reputed individuals, community leaders, and prominent families on the defaulters' list is deeply discouraging.
If we want better infrastructure, reliable electricity, and a community we can truly be proud of, we must lead by example.
A humble yet firm request to everyone with pending KPDCL dues: Please clear your outstanding balances at the earliest. True respect is earned through accountability!
Let’s keep Mattan’s pride intact. Clear your dues today. 🙏

The water coming through our main water supply is very dirty and contaminated. We are finding worms/leech-like creatures and other impurities in the water. This has happened many times before as well.
This is the water that people are using for drinking and daily household purposes, so this is a serious concern and should not be ignored.
I request the concerned Water Supply Department to please check the water supply properly, including the pipelines, storage tank and water source.
Since this problem has happened repeatedly, I request the department to take immediate action and fix the issue permanently, instead of letting it continue.

Attention dear MATTAN_town Residents -
As per the communication received by the Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL), the electricity connections of those consumers whose Bill exceeds ₹1500 will get automatically disconnected. The General Public is hereby informed to clear the pending bills up to Sunday (16th August 2026). The PDD has clarified that the step is purely taken to decrease the AT&C losses after which the Power Curtailment Schedule will be revised. The PDD is trying its best to ensure the uninterrupted power supply to MATTAN

There is a serious water crisis in Mattan, yet a significant amount of water is being wasted. Unfortunately, the concerned department has not paid attention to fixing the issue. Immediate action is needed to stop water wastage .
