*YSS Zone Anantnag Organizes Inter-School Zonal Level Cricket Competition*

The Department of Youth Services and Sports, Zone Anantnag, successfully conducted the inter-school Zonal Level Cricket U/14 boys competition at Sports Stadium Monghal and Ruhoo.

The event commenced with an Anti-Drug pledge, promoting a healthy and disciplined lifestyle among students. A total of 544 enthusiastic participants from 32 teams are showcasing exceptional talent and sportsmanship spirit.

The initiative aims to nurture future champions and cultivate a culture of healthy sports environment and fit individuals.

Anantnag, May 13, 2025 - The Department of Youth Services and Sports (YSS) Zone Anantnag is hosting the Inter-School Zonal Level Football U/17 Boys Tournament, featuring talented young players from various schools in the zone. The event has generated significant enthusiasm, highlighting the growing passion for football in Jammu and Kashmir, particularly in Anantnag.

The tournament began with participants taking a pledge against drugs, emphasizing the importance of a healthy lifestyle. The Activity Incharge of the Zonal Physical Education Office, Anantnag, addressed the athletes, highlighting the role of sports in managing stress and achieving success. He encouraged participants to be role models, demonstrating sportsmanship and showcasing their talents.

The official also emphasized that sports is an effective way to combat drug abuse, urging participants to spread awareness among their peers, family, and friends. The slogan "Nasha Maut Hai, Khel Zindagi" (Drugs are death, sports are life) resonated with the young athletes.

Twenty-eight teams from different schools in Zone Anantnag are participating in the tournament, which aims to promote healthy competition, teamwork, and skill development among young athletes, fostering sportsmanship and camaraderie.

"The Department of Youth Services and Sports, Zone Anantnag, has kick-started the U/17 Boys' Football Tournament at Sports Stadium Munghall under the Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan initiative.

The tournament was inaugurated by Medical Officer Ayoush Munghall, who appreciated the department's efforts in connecting with various sections of society and encouraging participants to choose sports over drugs.

The event began with a strong pledge against drugs by student players, emphasizing the importance of a healthy and drug-free lifestyle.

A total of 404 participants from 28 teams across different schools in Zone Anantnag are showcasing their skills and sportsmanship.

Anantnag's "Run for Unity" event is a fantastic way to promote unity, integrity, and security across the country. Held on October 29, 2024, this vibrant event was part of the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrations, which commemorates the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, a key figure in India's freedom struggle and unification.

The event saw hundreds of enthusiastic participants, including students, youth, and individuals from all walks of life, come together to support the cause. Flagged off by District Development Council Chairman Muhammad Yousuf Gorsi and Deputy Commissioner Anantnag Dr. Syeed Fakhrudin Hamid from Sarnal Dhadat K.P Road in presence of RajaYaqoob Ali DYSSO Anantnag, CEO, officers and officials of District Administration Anantnag, the run concluded at Sports Stadium Tik Bagh Mattan, where the Deputy Commissioner administered the Unity Pledge to the participants.

*"Empowering Youth Through Sports!*

Youth Services and Sports (YSS) Zone Anantnag organized a thrilling series of inter-school zonal level sports events, including Volleyball, Kabaddi, and Kho-Kho, for U/14 & U-17 Boys at Hanifa Institute Anantnag.

876 students from various government and private schools participated, showcasing their talents and enthusiasm.

The event began with an anti-drug pledge, promoting a healthy lifestyle and encouraging youth to engage in sports activities.

The Tournament was inaugurated jointly by Principal Hanfia Institute Mr. Ajaz Ahmad, District Cultural Co-ordinator Mr. Mohammad Akram, Mr. Mohammad Abass Dar, Mr. Bilal Ahmad Dar, Activity Incharges DYSSO Anantnag, and Mr. Sajad Ahmad Mir, Activity incharge ZPEO Ang, in the presence of Field Employees of YSS Zone Anantnag.

The chief guest encouraged students to participate in games and sports activities, emphasizing their importance in the curriculum.

The activity incharge of Zonal Physical Education Office Anantnag Organized Inter-School Zonal Level 𝙐-17 𝙐-14 Girls competitions in Chess, Carrom Table Tennis & Badminton today on (04/05/2024) at Govt. Degree college for Women Anantnag. The Chess, Carrom, Table Tennis and Badminton competitions were conducted among the U/17 Girls of different schools of Zone Anantnag. In the Competitions almost 280 girls participated with zeal and zest. In Table Tennis GMHSS Ranibagh bagged 1st place and Eff Emm school remained Runners up. In Chess competitions Hss kadipora bagged as 1st place and Hss Furrah remained Runners Up. While in Carrom GHS Khanabal bagged 1st place & Eff Emm school remained Runners up and in Badminton H/S Mir Danter bagged 1st place & Oxford Presentation School remained Runners up . The Competitions of U-14 Girls are scheduled day after tomorrow.

On the occasion of National Sports Day, Department of Youth Service's and Sports Zone Anantnag, in Memory of Hockey Legend Major Dayan Chand organized sports events at different High and Higher Secondary Schools of Zone Anantnag.
To commemorate National sports Day, Zonal Physical Education Officer Anantnag in collaboration with Municipal Council Anantnag, organised Sports and Recreational activities for both students, staff and YSS Officials today on 29/8/2023 at BMHSS Brakpora Anantnag. President Municipal Council Anantnag Mr Er. Hilal Ahmad Shah was Chief guest of the function, DYSSO Ang. Mr Raja Yaqoob Ali, CEO MC Ang. Mr Showkat Ahmad, Principal BMHSS Ang. Mr Dr Manzoor Ahmad were Guest of honour's.The competitions were thrown open by Chief guest, DYSSO Ang. CEO MC Ang. Principal BMHSS Ang. in presence of field officials of Youth Service's and Sports Department zone Anantnag and faculty members of BMHSS Anantnag. Many schools of adjoining areas of zone Anantnag took part in Kabaddi, Tug of War, Musical chair and some recreational activities. In his adress Chief guest fortified and encouraged the students to understand their interest, abilities and challenges in sports and to integrate, sustainable , development goals with Physical Education, games and sports in the curriculum.He also appreciated officials of Youth Service's and Sports Department zone Anantnag for their outstanding performance in the field of games and sports.
Around 345 Boys & Girls of different schools have participated in the sports competitions. President Municipal Council Anantnag Mr Er Hilal Ahmad Shah along with other dignitaries present in the function distributed prizes among the winners, Runner's.

Department of Youth Services and Sports Zone Anantnag successfully concluded Zonal level Inter-School FOOTBALL, Tug of War and Throw Ball Competitions in the age Group of U/14 and U/17 Boys at Sports Stadium Anantnag . Dist. Youth Services and Sports officer Anantnag Mr Raja Yaqoob Ali, I/C Activities DYSSO Anantnag Mr. Mohd Abbas Dar and I/C Activities Zonal Physical Education Officer Anantnag Mr Sajad Ahmad Mir distributed the prizes among winners and Runner-up teams in presence of senior most physical Education Masters and Teacher's. In his message DYSSO Anantnag further encouraged the youth to participate more & more in the upcoming sports events at various levels in order to remain fit & healthy.
Almost all the Institutions both Private & Government falling in Zone Anantnag participated in today's event. More than 35 Teams are part of the tournament.
645 Boys from different Institutions participated with full enthusiasm to show case their talent.
