On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Child Welfare Committee Anantnag joined the celebrations to acknowledge the strength, resilience, and invaluable contribution of women in society.

The Child Welfare Committee, Anantnag facilitated the restoration of a minor girl who had earlier run away from her home and was subsequently placed in a Child Care Institution for care and protection.
During the proceedings, the girl initially expressed unwillingness to return to her family. The Committee conducted proper counseling and interaction with the child to understand her concerns and ensure her best interests. After careful counseling and reassurance, the minor agreed to reunite with her family.
Following due procedure and satisfaction of the Committee regarding the child’s safety and well-being, the minor girl was restored to the custody of her family.
Child Welfare Committee Anantnag remains committed to protecting the rights, dignity, and best interests of every child.

Several children who were residing in Child Care Institutes in other districts were transferred to Anantnag for the purpose of restoration. As many of them had successfully completed their 10th class examinations and expressed their desire to return to their families, the Child Welfare Committee Anantnag conducted due inquiry and verification.
After ensuring that restoration was in the best interest of the children, CWC Anantnag restored and handed over the children to their families, reaffirming the importance of family-based care and the right of every child to grow up in a safe and loving environment.
