The assessment focused on their professional competence, field exposure in law & order, investigation, CI Ops, prosecution & new criminal laws ,tech-driven policing, cybercrime, and overall field preparedness.The interaction aimed at strengthening professional skills and preparing the officers for effective, and responsible policing and encouraging them to uphold professionalism & service to citizens.

*DIG SKR Chairs Security & Law and Order Review Meeting in Police District Awantipora*

*August 10:* ```Deputy Inspector General of Police, South Kashmir Range, Shri Javaid Iqbal Mattoo-IPS, today visited Police District Awantipora and chaired a comprehensive security and law and order review meeting at the District Police Office (DPO), Awantipora.

The meeting was attended by the Commander, 1st Sector RR; DIG CRPF, SKOR Awantipora; SSP Awantipora; Commanding Officers of 42 RR, 50 RR and 55 RR; Commandants of 130 Bn, 110 Bn, 180 Bn and 185 Bn CRPF; Addl. SP Awantipora, along with other senior officers, including SDPOs and DySPs of SOG.

During the meeting, a detailed review of the overall security scenario and law and order situation in Police District Awantipora was conducted. The meeting focused on strengthening the existing security grid, maintaining peace and stability, and ensuring effective preparedness to meet emerging security challenges. DIG SKR emphasised close coordination among Police, Army and CAPFs, effective intelligence sharing, enhanced area domination and proactive security measures to prevent any attempts to disturb peace and public order.

Officers were directed to maintain a high level of alertness and operational preparedness and ensure a prompt, coordinated and effective response to any emerging security or law and order challenge. DIG stressed upon the importance of professional policing, public cooperation, effective deployment and close inter-agency coordination for maintaining peace and ensuring the safety and security of the general public. During the meeting, SSP Awantipora briefed the chair regarding the prevailing security and law and order situation in the district and apprised the DIG about the measures being undertaken to further strengthen the security apparatus and maintain peace and stability.

The DIG SKR directed all officers to remain vigilant, maintain close coordination with all security stakeholders and adopt a proactive and result oriented approach towards ensuring peace, security and law and order in the district.

*First Batch of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra Pilgrims Warmly Welcomed at Nayug Tunnel, Qazigund*

*July 02:* ```The first batch of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY-2026) pilgrims received a warm and heartily welcome at the Nayug Tunnel Qazigund, Kulgam.

The reception was led by DIG SKR Anantnag Shri Javed Iqbal Mattoo-IPS, SSP Kulgam Shri Anayat Ali Chowdhary-IPS, along with other senior officers of district administration, Kulgam police and CAPF.

The pilgrims expressed happiness and gratitude for the warm hospitality.

A robust security grid has been established with the deployment of Police, Army, CRPF, and other security agencies across the Yatra route to ensure a safe, secure, and smooth conduct of SANJY-2026.```

Inspector General of Police, Traffic J&K, Shri M. Suleman Choudhary-IPS, today chaired a comprehensive review meeting to assess and finalize traffic management arrangements for the smooth, safe and seamless movement of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026 pilgrims along the Kashmir axis.

The meeting was attended by DIG(P) South Kashmir Range, DIG CRPF Anantnag, SSP Kulgam, SSP Traffic Rural Kashmir, SSP Traffic National Highway Ramban, SP Headquarters Anantnag, SP NHW Qazigund, besides other senior officers of the Civil Police, CRPF, Traffic Police and district administration of Anantnag and Kulgam.

During the meeting, a detailed review of the traffic management plan was undertaken with emphasis on ensuring close coordination and effective synergy among all stakeholder agencies for the safe and uninterrupted movement of Yatra convoys. The implementation and strict adherence to the notified convoy cut-off timings were discussed at length and all officers were directed to ensure their meticulous enforcement without exception.

The IGP Traffic stressed the importance of seamless inter-agency coordination, real-time information sharing, prompt clearance of traffic bottlenecks and effective regulation of civilian traffic to facilitate hassle-free movement of Yatra convoys. He also emphasized the need for continuous monitoring of road conditions, swift response to emergencies and efficient deployment of police personnel at all vulnerable and congestion prone locations.

The officers were instructed to maintain close liaison with the district administration, CRPF, road maintenance agencies and other concerned departments to ensure immediate response to any unforeseen situation. Special emphasis was laid on effective dissemination of traffic advisories, regulation of stranded vehicles whenever required, and ensuring minimum inconvenience to the general public while maintaining the highest priority for Yatra convoy movement.

The IGP Traffic reiterated that the safety and convenience of the pilgrims remain the foremost priority and directed all officers to work in close coordination, maintain high standards of professionalism and ensure flawless ex*****on of the traffic management plan throughout the Yatra period.

Full-Scale Dry Run Conducted on Pahalgam Axis to Review Security Preparedness for SANJY-2026

Anantnag, June 30: As part of the comprehensive security arrangements for the forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY-2026), a full-scale dry-run rehearsal of the convoy was conducted today along the Pahalgam axis, covering the stretch from Lambar to Pahalgam.

The exercise was aimed at assessing the operational preparedness, deployment, response mechanisms and inter-agency coordination of the Police, CAPFs and other security agencies involved in convoy regulation and area domination along the Yatra route.

The rehearsal was personally monitored and reviewed by the DIG, South Kashmir Range (SKR), along with senior officers of the Police and CAPFs, who assessed the effectiveness of the security grid and the readiness of all stakeholders.

Upon completion of the dry run, the DIG SKR chaired a comprehensive briefing-cum-debriefing meeting with the SSPs and Zonal/CAPF officers of District Anantnag and District Kulgam. During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the observations made during the rehearsal, operational deficiencies identified on the ground and feedback received from the deployed personnel.

The DIG issued necessary directions to address the shortcomings and emphasized seamless coordination, heightened alertness and strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure the safe, secure and smooth conduct of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, Shri V.K. Birdi, chaired a comprehensive Security Review Meeting (SRM) at RPHQ South Kashmir Anantnag to assess counter-insurgency measures and security arrangements for the forthcoming Shri Amarnathji Yatra 2026 (SANJY-2026).

The meeting was attended by DIG SKR, Commander Sector 1 Rashtriya Rifles (RR), DIG CRPF, CO 3 RR, CO 96 Bn CRPF, SSP Anantnag, SSP Kulgam, and SP Operations Anantnag.

IGP reviewed the operational preparedness of all formations and underscored the need for synergy among security agencies to ensure the safe and smooth conduct of the annual pilgrimage.

June 22: Shri Nalin Prabhat, Director General of Police, Jammu & Kashmir, today chaired a comprehensive Security Review Meeting (SRM) to assess counter-insurgency measures and security arrangements for the forthcoming Shri Amarnathji Yatra 2026 (SANJY-2026).

The meeting was attended by senior officers of all formations deployed in South Kashmir, including Victor Force, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Border Security Force (BSF), and Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP). All Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) of the concerned districts made detailed presentations covering the prevailing security scenario, counter-insurgency operational measures, and the multi-layered security grid being put in place for the Yatra.

The DGP reviewed the operational preparedness of all formations and underscored the need for synergy among security agencies to ensure the safe and smooth conduct of the annual pilgrimage.
