MyVillage is a Trust Founded by Mr.Mark Mendes who is a resident of Zhor Vaddo, Anjuna. My Village Trust was started in the year 2012 in Anjuna, Goa. This program is an initiative for the people, by the people and of the people, with an objective to revive the art and culture of the village. This requires time, effort and funds to motivate the change in the society preserving art and culture. Thr
ough education camps, village stores, village level activities and competitions, etc., The MyVillage "Anjuna" team teaches the village how to sustain through responsible tourism and art and culture of Anjuna. All My Village “Anjuna” activities focus on a combination of the following four key areas:
Environment;
People;
History & Craft of Goa. Michael’s Convent High School, Vagator – Anjuna, under the leadership of Sr. Libia Fernandes, allowed MVA to start Goan history and craft classes with specially selected children in the 8th Std. These children were taught Goan history, by renowned Goan historians such as Vasco Phino and Sanjeev Sardesai, and traditional Terracotta and Bamboo craftwork by Goan master craftsmen Verodina Ferrao and Vijay Jadhav. The main purpose of these classes was to raise awareness of both the history of our village and traditional Goan crafts, namely terracotta and bamboo work. In addition to the above, MVA has initiated competitions, and been involved in a number of activities in the village such as:
Traditional Plate making;
Providing swimming classes to the children of Anjuna village;
Participating in inter-school competitions such as “Glow On”, where 08 schools participated;
Wall Painting Competition for all the children of Anjuna;
